What do you know? I had some free time this time ha?! relistening to the wonderful demos from MEFISTO(Swe), what marvellous this demos are! Omar has to be the king, his guitars are so rock influenced with no doubt! I can listen to some Jeff Waters from Annihilator, some Black Sabbath's Iommis shit... you can hear everything, this guy is a master of guitar composition! And the demos sound so great! from the beginning with the "mommy where's daddy KAKAAAAHHHH KAKAAAAHHHH KAKAAAAHHHH" til the end with "Act Dead" track, fuking terrific. The Puzzle is more technical despite the fact the band is technical as a whole, riffs are pure chaos, solos are out of this world, they are everywhere at anytime just ready for attacking your brain cells just like eddie van halen used to! I got some bootleged copies of these gems, that's why I am writing about them, besides the great interview at deadhead #7... oh and the post office has my CD compilation about to arrive so I am fuking full of joy. TERMINAL DEATH(Chl)... yes, you read well, chile not the killer US act under the same name. Well, these guys are pure thrash/death , first track is amazing and definately lets you just right into them, "drowned in vomit" , just on the chorus I thought immediately about FLAMES (Gre) because that chorus reminded me of "kill for mommy" ha ha even its vocal tune, but this one is not that fast it was just on vocals, I am reviewing their first promo rehearsal of 2017 which is quite killer, by now probably they are already signed by a label or something so I'll be digging more on them soon. Now all these reminded me of how i got into them in the first place, I bought the blasphemer VII fanzine and read a small review about a band named DRENCROM(Chl), so I instantly wrote to them and traded some stuff, this Terminal Death came with their newest Dremcrom compilation released under LMDT Recs and also came with the band named Alienation, what to say? yes, chile knows about the ancient ways. When I went to santiago to see MERCILESS(Swe) live along with VIOLENT ATTACK(Par) I came across with one of the guys of Terminal Death who couldn't believe I already had the promo he was about to give me hahaha, this is what happens when one also knows the ancient ways right? enough shit by now... Drencrom is also thrash/death as Alienation is. But Drencrom is just that kind of chilean stuff you know you will be listening to when you get something from Chile with that German thrash influence, reminded me of EVIL MADNESS(Chl) and also RIPPER(Chl) vox for sure. What I am reviewing is "Retrospective of chaos" which includes their 2014 & 2015 demos plus two bonus tracks where the mixture of these last two in vocals reminded me of MARTIRE(Aus) but only vox too... music is pure aggggreeessssssivee thrash! Related to ALIENATION(Chl), the CDR I got stupidly came with two mp3 tracks which I cannot play on my CD player... who the fuk records a CDR with sole two mp3 !!!! OK, this guys look young on the picture so I pressume they don't know how to do things in a proper way. Musically speaking is weird... melodic shit on first track which happens to be just an intro luckily. Second track is OK, fast shit with strange vocals but sounds like a rehearsal so as it's not outstanding I cannot say much on them, should check something else to see what are they doing nowadays these guys, the demo is named "modern slavery". Now is time for SUBURBAN BASTARDS(Par) from the paraguayan humid lands... well this the so called metal punk ... it is what it is, I am not used to listening to this genre but this attack is killer! what to say, everything is perfect, the music, the sound, the vocals, the guitars, the bass... the production on this recording is fuking killer in all terms, lyrics are really good and in the same vein the name of the band is... I don't know the name of the album nor the tracklist cause it was given to me as a gift thanks to Sergio the guitar player. Their lineup is composed by lots of DL50 members as him, Marcelo and Vanessa are/were. Highly recommended ; get in touch with them through this email sergio_hk_thrash at hotmail dot com. This is taken from the magnific BLACKTHORN (Dnk) fanzine by the guys of DESEXULT(Dnk) / SAMHAIN(Dnk) in their issue number 8. I love this fanzine, but this in my opinion was not understood at that moment (1989), both GERMAN sikfuks are godddzzzz!!!
Hellish hell! Well I got Grimoire+Only Death of the black thrashers HELLISH(CHL) which is outstanding, released by Metal squad Recs, got their promo CDR which was great and now enjoy a full EP plus their demo is great! Nothing new on this, just pure german agression everywhere, you can recognize each riff coming from that wave of thrash metal, KREATOR(GER), DESTRUCTION(GER), SODOM(GER). Yesterday was a fuking great afternoon, PANDEMONIUM(URY) from my country is kicking asses here in the south... they are rehearsing their newer tracks soon to be on their forthcoming LP so labels should have their eyes on them! I was lucky enough to trade "No Speed Limit" boxset with nwn prods and this production is fukin killer... I never thought this would look that amazing on my own hands! All tapes sound outstandingly killer! Of course my fav tape on this is demo #2 from OBLIVION(CAN)!! Whimpsical UPROOOOOARGHH!!! and VOOR venomish hell is, of corpse, just terrific!! I've been also listening to FORCE OF DARKNESS (chl) , their first rehearsal demo which I traded months ago with my friend of SHP (Argentina) , is it me or MANTAS(US) kam lee seems to be singing? Hahaha their tune is so similar! is like a speed thrash version of Mantas, I did love it! I did had some time to start reading Deadhead #7 fanzine (book!?), with their #6 issue definately having Richard Brunelle on its frontcover was unarguiably one of the best fanzines I have ever read, now issue #7 had a SADISTIK EXEKUTION(AUS) fuking great interview oh and also a MANTAS(US) one just that I wrote it few lines above, MEFISTO(SWE) is also good... yeah, is focused only on old bands so is killer piece of historical register, I haven't finished it yet but each interview seems to be better than the previous one! rushing rushing till next time!
Hell hell hello bastards, did you got stuck with some insanity from out there? well... I did, I managed to get "Alosia" demo from the german sikfuks named AUTOPSIA(GER) thanks to my friend carlos from SHP (Argentina) which is fuking perfect, I got to this band thanks to an old fanzine that claimed it was pure shit as german Poison??? (***) What the heck!? As I love POISON(GER) it was direct to get to them... fuk is terrific thrash/death metal I know vocals from time to time are like Metallica's but is ok, there are some moments that are really from horror movies like in "Ghosthour" track when the slow part with acustic guitar pops in and says something like "it's two o'clock... I awake with tears in my eyes... ohhh" fuk that ohh! hahahah amazing and then... "the creatures of death, I lay in my bed ohhhmmmm" again, great vocals... some parts are like opera ? I don't know but I hate those kind of stuff but Autopsia keeps it amazingly well composed. "Alosia" and "Daily Burial" are my favs. Then I am also with CENOTAPH (ITA), thanks to Victor from INSANITY(CHL), he was looking for their demos so I helped him out without knowing what it was about and damn... is pure death/thrash with bulldog vocals, each demo has its beauty since vocals may differ from thrashy to death, "The Lurking fear on the desecretade ground" demo from 1991 keeps the thrashy aspects of 80s thrash but thinking in death metal terms, more obscure and decadent keeping its speed up and low tuned guitars (if I am not wrong, I am not a musician). its intro is just italian horror if you know what I mean! This demos kills definately but! "Demonolatreia" hell yeah... this is more death metal extreme, with those vocals I told you... amazing, "Satanarchy" hahaha the name of that track just tells you what are you going to be listening to. This demo has much more blast beat and from time to time it reminds me to the polish guys from Imperator, solos are fantastic, pure evil, this band is completely over the top! "Catacombal Womb" with a good intro I believe that was thinking on horror stuff again even at the mid of the song this kind of ingridients are applied. And at last "Interplanetary Death Thirst" which its name is also magnific, mixture of vocals are used and are fantastic too... it achivies a great interplanetary music with samples and keyboards and great solos... just great italian hatred! And refering to the Earth as previous track mentioned, I fall into another band I was listening quite long ago (may be already reviewed somewhere else, I can't remember if I did) but DIABOLICAL VOMIT(HOL), reminded to me by my friend Mediocridad, the "Systematic rape of nature" arghhh what an excellent recording... ehh ehh m... raw death metal with its primitive way developing amazing fury, slow parts for chorus and so on... but quite clever notes used for each part. "Psychic Chaos" is really slow at its beginning but then rage strikes as it must! The whole demo is 50% speed 50% slow parts but the environment is doomish, somber, but not boring at all, I dont like doom stuff, this guys have that good thing it makes it interesting all the time, I wish I could get a copy of this one since I don't have lyrics but the name of the demo makes me believe its line is what I would like to read! Enough of european stuff so it's time for EXTERMINATOR (Bra), I don't know how the hell did I get to them, probably because I dig in the old brazilian scene but besides that I also read their "Total Extermination" LP was re-released by some label, I was about to buy that but then I was lucky enough to get the old bootleged one which has the real artwork since the reissue does not have the swastika on it (i was told, I haven't checked it), which quite suck, I don't know why labels touch what should not be touched. Anyway, the LP sounds great, it's primitive obscure thrash metal typical from the 80s brazil of course, it's from '87 so you can guess right? The most outstanding is the reverb used in vocals... hahaha you can even listen to the loop it generates at the end of some screams which I believe is the only band it used this on that way, may be Reencarnación from Colombia rings the bell to on that point. The only bad thing on this recording is that the drums level is too low but the rest is glory. "Exterminator" track sang in portuguese makes you feel the anger with its "Exterminator matar y destruir" , just like "Marchando para morte". Probably the best track is "Speed Metal" which is pure Vulcano and "Haunting the Church" , all this is like Vulcano, Sextrash, Holocausto,Dorsal Atlantica definately from down below I even related to the locals Graf Spee vocalist Victor Rueda since the last track "Fighting Against the sky Angels" has that kind of schizomaniacvomits! Cheers and til the next vomit! Too much vomit this time ah!? is puke everywheaaarghhh!!!
As a death/thrash lover I probably know few of the most well know gems around the world due to my slow-check-schedule, I find mp3 intensive download vice quite disgusting and abundant in most people so I tend to check item by item in a quite slow motion speed, I prefer spend one month with one demo than 1000 demos in one night, how am I supposed to remember all those bands? OK, to the point. I got really stuck at some demos last months and I can tell you NIMROD(Chl) - Time of Changes demo '88 is killer, am i wrong if I tell you it's similar to DISARM(US) ? If you check my wishlist you may say I am obssessed (by cruelty? ) by after the dead demo but ok... I found some similar riffs so it's definately amazing, good Thrash/Death Metal. Another terrific jem introduced by my friend Phil from 'temple of adoration' fanzine was OBERON(Bul) from Bulgaria, quite unknown for me and they are outstanding, the demo Teyeh Metaa '93 is killer and the best of it is their track from '91 when they were known under another monicker "CroMaHa" (Stomana) which means Steel (translated thanks to Medarov from Terozin, the label who released this gem!), this is Black metal in Venom's vein and some Motorhead-ish stuff on it too, good to know if you are quite ignorant related to their ancient scene as I am. I don't want to make this too boring so my last comments go for CHAINSAW SLAUGHTER(Par), Paraguayan Black/Speed Metal fukin astonishing. If you were used to read my old blogs (blogspot/wordpress), you may remember how fascinated I was by UNHALLOWED(Chl) from Chile who where also in this vein, these two may differ in lyrical stuff, I don't know, I remarked lovecraftian,occult,alchemy related lyrics on Unhallowed but as this tape "The monk of the black circle Beneration" lacks of lyrics I cannot say anything of them. What Unhallowed has to do with this anyway? Vocals are so identical!! Believe me, if you enjoyed the chilean attack, well, this guys from paraguay has nothing to envy... they rule! Last one please? haven't checked WITCHNIGHT(Arg) demo tape?! warghh!! Fuk! black/speed again agressive and violent! argh! another thing that got me busy. Cheearghs pals! Remember, besides 'only real is real', in this particular case I own these tapes so dubbed copies are available for future trades in case you cannot find them.
