PEDIFILE (US) - Die a Violent Death demo 1986, ARGH!!!! what a crazy music!!! I came across with this in the first issue of Morbid Maganzine (Nor) that I took the scans lately from strappado forum. Then listened to this in youtube and could not believe it, this is a mixture in the wildness of DECEASED(US) together with the insanity of MAGNUS(Pol) in vocals and some AGRESSION(Can) due to those high tones in the voice that are unbelievably insane! This will slash your fukin face into pieces! I hope I can get this demo, sadly the bassist contact in m-a was broken, shit!! ATTOMICA (BRA) - 1987 LP, my brother Bruno has their third LP, I was not into it at all... but I never knew it was the third LP that was under his possession, I assumed it was the first. Since months I have been reading the book United Forces, a compilation of this great brazilian fanzine, which of course lead me to lots of unknown projects I was missing or probably forgot. This band was one of those; their demo was claimed to be highly impressive and totally fast and at the time this LP was being recorded and soon to be out. That words forced me to go back and check it again. Definately this is the kind of brazilian band that is ahead from their time. They are highly skilled, fast, brazilian but with a huge inspiration from SODOM in vocals. Is a kind of brazilian-german thrash mixture, astonishing indeed! This album is quite instrumental, long tracks with lack of vocals at times but kills anyway. This was totally deserving being heard by myself. LETHAL AGGRESSION (US) - Life is hard... but that is not an excuse at all! 1988, what the fuk can I say about this ball of digested bowels of male babies regurgitated from their goddess of infinit vaginas!? Listened to it once, twice... I could not stand the rythm in the vox, like rap, but man the lyrics, the speed and anxiety emanated from these bastards of hell is acidly envenoming! ARGH!!!! My favs: "I'll fight", "No scene", "KDD" (KILL DEATH DIE!!!), "Don't break the pact" (SHITHEAD!), "Spooge" argh I can list the whole album KILLS! The title of the album says it all man, fuk life, fuk all but FIGHT. And not to be disappointed, I was watching a live set from them which I happened to trade, from 1986 and they are insane! NECROPHAGIA (US) - Power through darkness demos, this is a compilation of their early demos, perfect for fans of horror death metal, of course you already know this pioneering act of magnificient arts in this theme. I only had under my possession their CD of Season of the dead, but this one was a must since power through darkness is an impressive demo but all their demos KILL... KILL... KIIIILL!! This is a reissue by Irreverent Curse Records on green-puz tape. EVOKED TERROR (Per) - Summoning Spectral Visions Demo 2013, I dubbed this tape from my friend Mediocridad, great mid-tempo Death metal from the grave... like I always say, peruvian nightmares inspired by brazilian 80s scene, lots of riffs some familiar and vocals take me to the chilean scene, for instance DEATHLY SCYTHE (CHL) due to those ripping screams. Tracks are all the time up and down in terms of speed, it's enjoyable and they totally worship the ancient cult. THE KILL (US) - Force of the Habit demo 1985, Crazy Thrash band ala EXODUS(US) and even the track "On the Road" from VENDETTA(GER) rang the bell on this. Catchy tracks well axecuted that keep you on the mood. "Kill or be Killed" is an in your face track, then "Metal Messiah" is like IRON MAIDEN(UK) at some points. "Ready to Fire" is in the same vein but more speed with some METALLICA(US) stuff, excellent to close this three track demo. THE KILL (US) - Kill or be killed demo 1986, "Murder by Metal" unleashes more fury and shows how this band is developing into more powerful act. The sound is kind of cleaner and dirtier at the same time, guitars probably sharper. Vocals are much more chaotic, mostly in the chorus part with the name of the track. Then the next track is a re-recording of "Kill or be killed" which is killerly improved due to more energetic screams. ANGEL WITCH (UK) - 1980 album, well what to say... a gem in the UK Heavy Metal realm. Lots of stuff similar to IRON MAIDEN(UK), and at times similar to DEF LEPPARD(UK) for instance in their track "Free Man" you will easily identify what I mean. This LP is so rich, it has great theatre experiences like what you can feel listening to "Atlantis". What one can state is the same as always with albums coming from that time... there's no bad track at all. It seems in the old times things were done properly with no mediocre shit to fill the space; at least not in most of the cases. TÖXIC DEATH (NOR) - Remember DEATHHAMMER (NOR), OBLITERATION (NOR), MABUSE (NOR), CONDOR (NOR) and who knows what other marvellouse acts Norway got into its lands... well, this act is no exception to the list because its vocals are just in the same kind of girlyscream that are outstandingly pure hatred... I cannot understand how those fantastic screams are achieved by these psychos from hell. Well, the only I have under my possession is a dubbed copy of their 2012 demo which is good. What still amaze me is the fact that even it's a demo, the quality could be compared with an LP. Recommended for those thrashing lunatics thirsty of obscure insanity. MERCYFUL FATE (DNK) - Melissa 1983, even thou some think I am into this act, nope... I am not at all... this is the 10th time I think I give it a try, it is really hard for me to stand the vocals, I am doing it again but this time with a better result. I came across with some vocal tunes similar to Rob Hallford and guitars as obscure as the ones done in the past by Tomi Iommi with the exception that this guitars have more gain with a speed touch. Even tracks like "Into the Coven" exposes JUDAS PRIEST (UK) influences. "Satan's Fall" also showed me that MEFISTO intro, one of the best intros in the world by the way, in the demo "Megalomania", has its influence here with the laughter you can listen. If I mentioned above that ANGEL WITCH(UK) has theatrical scenarios of music, well, this exposed even beyond those borders. It's still happening to me that higher notes on vocals are unbearable, the worst track generating this issue of braincellscollidingwhilevomitingbrainwormeaters is "Satan's Fall". Even though, riffs after that crap do kill, but it destroys my head! May be with more listenings it will do it. In the end this time I enjoyed it very much, all tracks are great, still convinced that NWOBHM and Hard Rock had great impact on this band but I am not saying anything new. VA (Pol) - Tyrants of Hell Vol. I Compilation 2020, extremely oportune compilation done by Destruktion Records and Bestial Sounds Studio. This is great for getting your ears dirty with Polish underground scene from nowadays. At first listen I thought it was ugly and purely Black Metal stuff but man, even the worst band on this compilation is good! It really got me in... this scene seems pretty interesting. Highlights in my opinion are BLACK HOST(POL) - obscure Thrash Metal, ARMAGH(POL) - Black Thrash pretty Rocky in feeling, and the killer Black Rock 'n Roll VENGEANCE! About the B-Side, MOLOCH LETALIS(POL) - Black/Death Metal pretty killer, fast and sung in Polish which adds that extra touch, HELLCURSE(POL) - Black Thrash, NECRÖMANZER(POL) - Black Punk Thrash ala WHIPSTRIKER (BRA) with fabulous voices in the vein of "War and Pain" album from VOIVOD(CAN), ABUSER(POL) - ragin Thrash Metal , too much clean vocals and seems the sound is too perfect but kills anyway, BUTCHERY(POL) - Black/Thrash influenced by German Thrash Metal, GALLOWER(POL) - Black/Thrash Metal that fukin riff I listened somewhere else I cannot recall fuk!, MAGOG(POL) - Death Metal seemed to be taken from a rehearsal but kills, picture a Brazilian sound mixed with some SLAYER(US) touch. What really expulsed my brains out of my ears were the terrific intros done by the people in charge of this, those are great and I found it pretty original indeed, one of those on each side and the beginning "DEATH TO MODERN METAL..." HA HA HA EPIC! -If you are a label/distro and are willing to be part of the Official distribution ask here: signofevil.proc_at_gmail_dot_com . -If you are in my country or around Uruguayan borders and know my label/distro don't hesitate to ask for a copy! Oh and I forgot to mention it comes with a well designed letter for contacting bands which is really good so you can ask for more stuff directly through the involved bands! DAMNAKLEEZ (US) - Angel of Evil demo got released in 12'', another attack by the excellent label Buried by time and Dust Records. Finally I could get it, all this pandemic shit forced my friend Mediocridad to be kept far so we could not exchange our stuff until recently. As is must, includes the devilish lyrics and killer pictures! The sound is perfect and the whole art is magnificient. I must add that B-side kills with its second live demo at Ruthies Inn, spectacular sound and the introductions to some tracks reminded me of Tom Araya, when he starts a phrase including the title! check "Kamikazee"! . FOOD CHOICES - this isn't a band but a Movie, Documentary. Recommended because is not stupid like most of the anti-propaganda I have already watched.
