OK, Hello investigators of the filthy deathrashing insanity graves; I found out lots of my old reviews, pre-site update, disappeared, but I managed to get them back because I had a backup, so don't miss the chance to read my bullshit in case you missed it. Now the music I have been listening and re-listening and that's it. Till next vomits of hate and nonsenses. SEXMAG (POL) - Sex Metal MLP 2021 by Dying Victims, Starts with an intro almost identical to what POISON(GER) did on "Into the Abyss" and the guitar sound reminded me of CRUEL FORCE(GER) , vocals are in the vein of DEATHHAMMER(NOR). All tracks are written and sung in Polish, so, as you know, words are fantasticly weird from time to time, at least in this particular case, pronunciation took me into a kind of brazilian way, as if they were sung in portuguese, pretty interesting I must say. The whole MLP is consistent, is fluent and natural as fuk, zymbals sound spectacularly clear as if you were right there in the rehearsal studio or whatever. To mention some of their influences, or at least what I think, expect a Thrash Metal granade explosion of a DESTRUCTION(GER) , SLAYER (US) , BATHORY(SWE) , POSSESSED (US) and the likes!! INSTIGATOR(SWE) - Bad Future 2015 by Gates of Hell Recs, this EP screams GISM(Jpn) as soon as it starts with "Anabolic", the noise and mixture of different vocal tunes takes you directly there and also SABBAT(Jpn). In some ways the concept reminded me of another new project, BLOOD SPORTS(FIN), with that of an apocalyptic future vision,etc... by the way, the intros are indeed great, "Inseminoid" is the second track which is a Heavy/HC/Punk/Speed Metal, is excellent, again and again, thank you women for being so smart and violent when on extreme music, in fact all art is from Hiroshima, the vocalist. Lyrics were all included on an insert, I fukin loved that on 7", easy and cheap to do but some labels tend to forget it. SIDE B begins with "Black Magic" following the same line. "Undetectable", it kills a couple of beer cans for sure. The whole 7" is great, highly recommended. I got fukin heavily superbly surprised by the fact they got in touch w/ Lloyd Kaufman from Troma for using an extract of one of his underground movies. This EP is spectacular, so go fukin get it! THE RODS (US) - The Rods LP 1981 , by Arista Records , this LP, once I got fuked by an asshole from UK who sent it to me totally unplayable, fuked grooves,etc... luckily I was able to get my money back, but then , after one or two years of that episode, I was finally able to get this great Hard Rock/Heavy Metal album. What to say, this is a classic Rock in the vein of TED NUGENT(US), RAINBOW(UK), LED ZEPPELIN(UK), ACDC(AUS) and some others I already forgot I noticed on their music, even RUSH(CAN) or PINK FLOYD(UK) in "Woman". I was convinced by the fact that this was their first release ever, but they used to have another one entitled "Rock Hard", which happens to have most of the tracks of this very LP. I cannot recall right now if the recording sessions were exactly the same and a couple of tracks were added just for the ocassion, or if the old tracks were just remastered for the release. Anyway, if you enjoy their influences you cannot miss this one. My favourite tracks are "Power lover" , "Crank it up" "Music man" , "Nothing going on in the city", "Get ready to rock 'n roll" and "Rock hard" ! "Rock hard! is in the music, Rock hard! is in the blood, rock hard! born to rock hard!" MENACE(BRA) - Apostles of Violence Demo 1988, bootleg tape sent by Life Eternal Prods, I was looking for this one and not being able to get a proper dubbed one in months, you read my mind my friend! I knew this project thanks to fukulo ( MORBORUS(URY) ) , who brought it home on CDR once in a cold drunk night. This is a very well done mixture of SEPULTURA(BRA) , ATTOMICA(BRA) and german Thrash Metal acts like KREATOR(GER), SODOM(GER) and DESTRUCTION(GER). When "The Horror Mass" starts, after some KREATOR-ish intro, you get the SEPULTURA's "Crucifixion" vibe on their tremolo part, the vocals are really deep, so in my mind ends up into a kind of Thrash/Death Metal, probably the sound of the tape also helps them to achieve that, the final tremolo part kills beyond killness I wish all track were just that part HA HA! "Dictating laws in vein" keeps the same structure, it adds some choruses with clean vocals which are not my kind of beer, at least not done in this particular way, then some SLAYER(US) kind of riffs were applied to keep the track fluent, followed by more tremolo and solos, the formula I just love, then back to the awful choruses and dies with more thrash and fade-out. "Apostles of violence" is totally violent and fast, as it must, being the title of the demo, ironically, says "pleasure to kill" which is what I think influenced them the most on this recording, besides I felt some THANATOS(HOL) on the rythm of some phrases, particularly from their track "Outwards of the Inwards". "Sabbath" starts as it were DESTRUCTION(GER), same riff as in "The Ritual" ha ha, then changes into their style, and some choruses reminded me of another Black Thrash Metal act, I think it was MEFISTO(SWE), sorry folks, cannot retrieve that data from my brain today. "Nuclear Menace" more of what I have already described and "Live with lies (die with truth)" invokes the end of this tape with a chaotic solo jumping all over your ears and now clearly feel some Phil's riffs from NUCLEAR DEATH(US) , a tapping solo over tremolo and mid tempo drumming with an aura of "Beneath the Remains" too. I think all my crap describes pretty well what will be getting if you put your dirty hands on this tape, in the end, totally recommended for those who are looking for ancient brazilian bands that count on obscure atmosphere. CHEMICAL BREATH(Bel) - Brutal Violation 1990, relistening to this demo, a pretty consistent Death Metal with lots of resseblances to what the swedish DM scene had, great vocalist with a macabre growling, reminded me to Barney Greenway in "Harmony Corruption" from time to time mixed with Kam Lee, music is DM in the vein of DEATH(US) , PESTILENCE(HOL) and the likes. CHEMICAL BREATH(Bel) - Reality Beyond Demo 1991, I had both tapes dubbed on one, so it was inevitable to mention this one too, here you can appreciate the technical aspects their music had on their first LP. It's on the same vein than before but probably less groovy, what makes this demo shine more than their previous one. I think this demo is exepcted being from the year it is. Both are interesting demos if you wanted to know how they got to "Fatal Exposure" album, by the way the excellent track "Mutilation" is part of this demo, "Erased from existence" too. I am still missing that LP which got reissued a couple of years ago... shit. I recommend you to grab this one and also their album. Won't regret it if you are into Technical Death metal in the north-american ways. HEATHEN(US) - Demo 1988, two tracks demo, "Hyponitized" and "Mercy is no Virtue", as previously stated, this band is in the vein of EXODUS(US) and guess why this demo is kind of particular, Paul Baloff is here, interesting fact, the music is more EXODUS as expected, for me this are not remarkable tracks but are not bad either, just a demo. DEATHTRAP(Jpn) - Night Mare demo 1987, bootleg tape I dubbed myself thanks to my friend Pat, this band was known to me only by name, I had never had the opportunity to check their audio, probably because I never had it and never found anything digital to check (Maybe nowadays is everywhere, don't know don't care). Spectacular japanese Thrash metal. This is a 3-track demo with sharp vocals ala SABBAT(Jpn) in some ways, and may be influenced by DARK ANGEL(US). Highly recommended, to my surprise it was not noisy at all but fully listenable! Its tracks are "My god Satan" , "M.O.N.M." and the terrific omonimus to their demo title "Nightmare". Only one demo? Why?! ANSCHLUSS (Bra) - Demo 1986, bootleg tape, When firstly started following the origins of death metal I came across with this brazilian act, similar to CURRICULUM MORTIS(Per) , I was really intrigued by their next steps, this three demo track is excellent, it's a simple deathrash three-tracks demo "Marching for Death" , "Die Black" and "Killer Sovereignity" being this last more HC, the most remarkable is the guitar tune and the vocals effect which indeed makes them as original as C.M.! Sadly this band became really groovy and dull after their first two demos... ANSCHLUSS (Bra) - Demo 1987, bootleg tape, Another three tracks from this psychos, evolved one I would say, following SEPULTURA(Bra) 's steps. Tracks are more refined, these are "Storm of Terror", "Deep Hate" and "Soldiers of hate". I don't know what else to add about them, these two demos are highly recommended, the most original is the one from 86 but this is also good to have. DETHRONER (POL) - #3 1990 - Great polish fanzine counting on spectacular interviews of NUCLEAR DEATH(US) , ABOHRER(SIN) , DARKTHONE(NOR), ANARCHUS(MEX) and tons of weird reviews HA HA! I mean weird because most classics recordings are reviewed in the most strange ways, mostly as if their were copycats, shit or something in between... anyway, It was a killer fanzine to read. And the interviews are really good, some info I probably never read before (or may be I forgot) ; and I was amused by the fact that GRAF SPEE(URY) was reviewed as unique and INNER SANCTUM(URY) as a CELTIC FROST(SWI) clone He he, so expected. NECRONOMICON (BRA) - #3 1989 - Really nice brazilian fanzine with little interviews, the best were NECRODEATH(ITA) and WITCHES(FRA), and tons of reviews, even reviews from fanzines. PHOENIX MILITIA(UK) - #3 1986 - Impressive english fanzine with tons of large and small interviews, PROTECTOR(GER) was too short but counts on great details, ACCUSED(US) was great, the openning with MUTILATOR(BRA) was great too... What amused me on this fanzine is the fact they promoted, or at least indirectly, Vegetarianism (Which i think back then it was the same as Veganism); in their interview with SACRIFICE(CAN), I fukin love this thrash bastards but they were totally stupid assholes insulting EXTREME NOISE TERROR(UK) for their views regarding animal rights. I ended up concluding the same as the author, ignorant fuks, just it. Then has a quite dull DESECRATION(US) interview, another almost good one with BULLDOZER(Ita), I mean almost good, because the interviewer position himself over the band; I felt the whole texts as if were an expression of superiority in fact... like if the involved ones were smarter creatures than the ones being interviewed... but what was the point of the fanzine? The whole fanzine is not like that but feels like it in a kind of 40 percent. And the last I read here was MASTER(US) which was also a good one. The last reviews were impossible to my eyes, too tiny font and the scan was not that good. Anyway, recommended as fuk, besides I ended up knowing another project named ATAVISTIC(UK) which is a kind of early NAPALM DEATH(UK) , not that great in my opinion but good to know. PHOENIX MILITIA(UK) - #7 1988 - Well this one is much more readable, the font size is bigger, the art is hell of an impressive piece of artwork and interviews are longer, CRYPTIC SLAUGHER(US) one was killer, a short but kind of good interview with DESEXULT(DNK), DISCHARGE(UK) one was interesting, since the point of view of the audience back then was that the bands just wimped out and followed trends after Cal's departure. I have never followed EXTREME NOISE TERROR(UK) but their interview was OK too, nice questions. In retrospective, this shows the (in/)evolution of the HC Punk bands from UK. This issue has a kind of "worldwide scene summary" naming bands from everywhere with contacts and does the same for fanzines, reminded me of an artzine I used to get through snailmail which used the same kind of propaganda, really great indeed. This issue enlightened me with HELLBASTARD(UK), never heard/read of them before, their interview was my kind of beer and I slightly checked them on internet and sounded like a mixture of CELTIC FROST(SWI) with DEATHSTRIKE(US), also reminded me of CHAOS UK(UK) 1981 demo and possibly influenced guitar riffs on NAPALM DEATH's "Scum" album; so hard to resist ah?! Also has a great interview with Mick Harris from NAPALM DEATH(UK) ; i could not stop my vomitting laugh after reading he used to scream directly to the snare's mic things like the title's of REPULSION(US) 's songs while on stage!! ARGH! WHAT AN INSANE BASTARD HE WAS HAHAHA! There was also a short and weird one with POISON(GER). Pretty interesting and good fanzine after all, highly recommended.
