CYANIDE GRANADE(Rus) - Quintissence of Death 2017 released by the russian label Metal Race, remember them from the ASPID LP? well, this is a new Thrash/Speed Metal band, the music is professional as fuk, not too original but it has its riffs in its own technical way but not too complex, I mean, you can think of TOXIC HOLOCAUST with a little bit more skilled guitars, vocals are also in the vein of Joel which pleases you instantly. The whole production is clean but does not opaque this album at all, in fact you can enjoy every detail from that. Solos are spectacular and well assembled into the tracks. My favs were "Don't joke with a stranger" , "Deadlock", "Drunk Attack" it's an instrumental one but speedy and catchy which makes it enjoyable throughout the whole time you listen to it, you don't get distracted at all, well done. "Welcome to the Slasher" I think is the best track of the whole album and reminds me of VEKTOR(US) but not that technical. This LP includes a Venom's "Black Metal" cover, is good, I am not too fond of these kind of covers anyway... I kind of lost my interest in covers. Pro: lyrics are in English, Neg: you don't notice any difference if this band were from Russia or any other part of the world because has nothing to do with their ancient Russian sound at all. Anyway, I don't see it as a clone band, for instance I kind of dislike CIST also from Russia because they are just a DEATH(US) clone also with no root at all in what Russian thrash metal was and with a northamerican sound... totally rip off in my opinion but CYANIDE GRANADE achieves a good music anyway. If you have the opportunity to get this one, don't hesitate to do it! AUTOPSY(US) - Headless Ritual CD by Pieceville 2013, sick LP by the ancesters of death. I don't know if I can add too much on this, you know AUTOPSY's come back with 'Macabre Eternal' hit me in a way I can hardly explain, because their line is so fukin unique... Even with its slow parts, I cannot consider them as 'doom' for me they are horror, doom is boring, Horror is not! They kept this line up which I fuking love with Eric, Chris, Danny and Joe... If you can get this one don't even doubt it, in my opinion is better than Torniquetes... but I would buy that one too because I like having their stuff! AUTOPSY(US) - Skull Grinder EP 12'' Pieceville, this is another example of how great they are. In fact I got really influenced by this one because of its horrific parts and obscure vocals. The other day I was talking about this project with a friend of mine while on a street market in the hunt of stuff, I know lots of people consider them as Doom because of their slow parts, OK, I can agree up to a certain extend because I think they are not doom but horror parts, I compare them even with what NECROPHAGIA(US) did, I don't get bored with their slow parts because they have something extra that can be compared with manic scenarios from horror movies, just in the right moment about to stab you in the eye. AUTOPSY(US) - Puncturing the Grotesque 2017 by Pieceville, last studio recording of this fukers and you know what to expect. Bloodgutsandbeer! This time I came across with more HC influence on guitars and drumming but never leaving their death metal realm. This EP comes with 7 tracks and the last one is a refubrished one coming from BLOODBATH(US) , a HC band Danny used to have, I was lucky enough to see them live that very same year and they killed with it! Again, I recommend buying this one too. Is short but that's what EP's are all about, a pre-kick in your face for an upcoming LP or may be just another EP ha! ZNÖWHITE(US) - Demo #1 1983 & Demo #2 1984, what I can say about a Heavy/Speed Metal band from US with female vocals? You are right, nothing more than FUKIN SHIT MAN! This is pure speed attack in your fukin damned ugly shited face. I can hear some MONTLEY CRUE(US) & ANNIHILATOR(Can) influences... check the years anyway, probably the other way round... I haven't checked further matherial but this demos made my kaffee-und-arbeit-morgen. Yeah still learning the language of some bastards friends for the fun of it, to distract from work while music. Back to the demos, I totally recommend you to check this out, vocal tune can lead you to ACID(Bel) may be from time to time. Remarkable tracks: all, but "Do or Die" is great and of course reminds me of DISCHARGE(UK) track, what a great expression and cannot be clearer. "Know who you are", "Hell Bent" , "Live for the Weekend". Soundwise is also great and as dirty as it is (is not that dirty, but may be it is for the genre) is perfect. SCHIZO(Ita) - Total Schizophrenia demo 1987, great demo title, and starting with a track named "Electric Shock" you can get nothing more than electric insanity by the vocals and sharp guitars. I fukin love Italian tune in vocalists and pronuciation, you can feel pure hatred and what a pleasant feeling it is. I am new to this recording because I never knew there were previous music to Main Frame Collapse LP. The track titled "Nazi and Proud", with its quite shocking title, could prevent some from listening to them, reading mags from the time, you can realise they were no more than kids being fearless with what they did, you can read SLAYER mag interviews issued with anti-swastika drawings and all... is always the same during the time, they wanted to be rebels and they were, as an adult I can say, what a stupid way of doing it but somehow they did it and properly. I even thought about myself while doing some graffitti in my neighbourhood with swastikas just for the sake of bothering people, i was 13-14 hahahahaha a total asshole but well, that was the way of being anti whatever hahaha; I won't do that nowadays because times changed and dictatorship-ways are on the table, back then here it was just post-economical depression and I was sick of not being able to do anything without any money... just drinking or smoking whatever i could get and rebel against who knows what i was thinking of... so ... well enough, "Psycho Terror" or known by our circle as "saico tero" is also in this tape, slower beginning but fast parts are there almost as they got done for the LP, awesome. "Deathstress" track is new to my ears, I really cannot recall that track from anywhere, is great for finishing the sideA with really good riffs, man I wish I could do that! some guys really were born to be wild! The enchantments of the 80s! "Breathe the violence", awesome title, unleashes as a HC track with great noises in the guitars with echo and then turns into fast brutality. "S.O.J.A.R" closes the tape as if it were grindcore super fast, the main guitar riff sound reminded me of III KATEGORIJA(Yug) may be. SCHIZO(Ita) - Thrash the Unthrashable, Thrash to kill demo 1985 , dirtier, slower and simpler demo than the previously mentioned, includes some tracks not issued later. Something to grab for the sake of visualizing their progress. CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER(US) - Life in the grave demo 1985, what the fuk with its intro Ha ha! also first time listening to this demo. "Flesh of the Wench" is obscure, probably the sound of the tape helps them to achieve that, total thrash metal with few HC parts and solos, this is different and fukin like it!! it even reminds me of SADUS. Check the fukin year! "Necessity supreme" same line ARGHH!!!!!!! ARGHHHH!!! "Life in the grave" is horrific with its beginning like moshing-with-horror and instantly takes you to the graveyard to kick the tumbstones and crush them with full psycho screams. Short track anyway. "War to the knife" back to the same line as first tracks, hell yeah. "Rest in pain" closes the demo, with thrasher vocals and sound probably a little bit slower too from what you hear in the Convicted LP, anyway you can get the line of the band and its impressive roots. This tape makes me understand even more what they fuking did. This band ended up being one of my top 10, Hahaha i don't even have a top 10 but you get the idea. Excellent demo. KRYPTA(Bra) - Last Attack demo 1989 is a fuking masterpiece in the SLAYER(US) vein from the Brazilian lands. Loved this demo, long ago knew them and again, this demo counts on three tracks. Then the demo Fatal Destiny from 1988 is more death/thrash with a clear MAGNUS(Pol) vibe in the vocals. Is not as good as their previous demo but this brazilian band is a killer act and I believe quite unknown too. I hardly see this on trading lists or whatever. Thanks my friend, I am enjoying this more than a monkey with bananas! GENOCIDIO(Bra) - EP 1988 , monstruos Death Metal, the beginning of the first track reminds me of "Ingenieria Infanticida" from the old local act MORBID BLOOD(Ury) ,vocals and next riffs are ala SARCOFAGO(Bra), but I don't know, the whole environment is less Black Metal and much more violent into the death realms, one could even check some DORSAL ATLANTICA(Bra) way of riffing in the second track... as far as I remember, this recording is the only worth having from them... I remember checking something post '88 which disappointed me a lot because was towards a different frame of reality. DEADLY MANOVER(Can) - Deathology demo 1987, fukin pure agression with magnificient vocals as one could listen in other Canadian project like DAMNATION(Can) or YOG SOTHOTH(Can), amazing Deathrash with malevolence and extremely sharp axes from the depths of insanity! Revisiting this kind of demos is what makes you live another fukin day with a huge smile in your ugly face with your fist up high in the dark skies! Never give up on trading man! I cannot believe I am listening to this tape after so much years! Screams like the one at the end of "pleasure of the flesh" track is what makes them so memorable! EXPULSED ANGEL(Ger) - Knights of the Black Moon demo 2018 - RE 2021 by Escafismos Recs from the mighty bastard Edin, I won't say anything else because a review was already done on this site before, but what a great demo! This reissue includes a Bonus track "Gods of the Black Abyss" in the very same vein as the other tracks but seems to be taken from a rehearsal at some points I found it more Brazilian-influenced at the beginning, not because of its chaotic riffs but due to mid tempo drummings. And besides being released in a top quality tape, did you know that the tape counts on an Uruguayan artist for the frontcover?!!!!! Yeah MAN! This highly super skilled artwork was done by my brother Fukulo from the local act HEFESTO(Ury)! He kills beyond killness and his arts were issued somewhere in our fanzine Extreme Resurrection, expect a somber-quaility artist. MERCILESS DEATH(Pol) - Eternal Condemnation demo 1987, relistening to this classic deathrash from Poland, fast and insane. Already well known project which happened to be already reissued on CD, I want to buy it but I will have to wait until borders get open back again. In the mean time I got it from a trade. This is in the excellent vein of the time in those lands, like first recordings from VADER and the mighty IMPERATOR(Pol), both in pre-LP's eras. Vocalist also reminded me of NECROPHILIAC (Spa). The joke on "Seek n Destroy" from METALLICA(US) is fantastic jajaja, they also seem to be into the cartoon from the time like AUTOPSIA(Ger) (pipi langstrumpf was it JAJAJA!) It would be pointless to add something else than fukin get this band whenever you can! KPEMATOP(Rus) - YEPTOÑ 1989 , this was recorded during the USSR times, originally recorded in Reel tapes and distributed by the band itself this release is nothing more than an old forgotten full of hatred gem. I used to follow chupacabra records who happened to release this on tape years ago but sadly I could not get it. Anyway, some years later OSDM Records put it out on CD which is fukin great, one item to be removed from my wishlist. I totally recommend you this CD not only because I am fukin insane by 80s Russian sound but because the music kills, no compromise, just pure Thrash from the cold russian hell! One thing I did not understand is, the label translated into English the name of the tracks but lyrics are in russian jajajajaja WHY!?!! Anyway, the CD itself is printed as if it were from the old times too... shiny with black borders, is beautiful, besides the artwork seems to be done by a xeroxing house from the 2nd World War because smells ancient! AH man I am fukin jumping of joy with this in my stereo! Please, if someone know how to contact OSDM Records by snailmail or mail let me know... I came across with this release just by chance when my friend Thomas from Life Eternal Prods sent me his newsletter... I should ask him ah? HA HA rNAboTNHA(Rus) - BoÑ 1992 - RE 2018 again by OSDM Records, this project known as GUILLOTINE is fukin pure russian Thrash metal with some deathrash ingridients, fast as fuk and agressive, another hidden band from the lands of war, they released this in 1992 but no cover, no nothing ... probably also distributed by themselves with no recognition from abroad (may be I am wrong but it seems like it), the label was in charge to add a front cover to this which intends to represent the old style from 80 Russian with a painting in the Russian way, seems quite modern in my eyes but I got the point and understanding that there's nothing to critizice, good work. The eyes of the demonic manifestation looks sick and old ha ha. I know I claimed 90s sound is not my kind of beer, but you know, this is one of those projects that still sounds like 5 years before it was released, that is why I am recommending you this killer album right away! Expect nothing more than Russian thrash with its typical sharpy sound, with weird riffs cuts and double drum bass when least expected!!! An the best, the beast of bothering and insane screams in their own motherrussia language! OBLITERATION(Nor) - Nekropsalms 2009, second album by this AUTOPSY lovers. Well, as I only had the Blac Death Horizon tape which is DM in the real classic ways and totally astonished me, I did not hesitate to get more stuff from them, this album was quite shocking to me because their skills were far beyond what you can listen in newer albums... bass is full of effects which perfectly suited the environment of the music and the drumming is extremely technical. The whole album is much more technical comparing it to what I knew from them. Probably slower than what they did after that. The concept of the art also depicts that what you get is not easy to digest, but honestly, it is a great album too. I did enjoy it, not as much as Black Death Horizon but is not that far either. I would recommend you this one too! OBLITERATION(Nor) - Cenotaph Obscure 2018 is what's next to Black death Horizon and is just exactly in the same vein, exploding vocals and fast music with somber landscapes of the macabre... I loved it, this is the line I enjoy the most from what they have done. I am holding the tape from Morbid Skull Records in my hands which is perfectly done too. Each song has a drawing to expose the lyrics, quite an interesting concept, may be reflects images in your mind the same way a movie could do. I think this one will be on my deck for quite a good time. The best reflection one gets is that they had lots of well known AUTOPSY's riffs but they developed their creativity into more of their own and even thou you can realise their roots, which are fantastic, you can get a piece of their stuff too. To be their latest studio recording, this deserves total recognition! The made it once again! Definately #6 Tough Riff fanzine is excellent, had CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER(US) , EXMORTIS(US) and ATHEIST(US) in depth interviews that are fantastic with stories I had never heard of before. Now I started the #8 which is also in the same vein, has MASSACRA, good interview! it seems that now I can consider this fanzine a real good work and probably that's why Stefan from Schatensmann Productions/Witchcraft is releasing it, in the end, highly recommended! I cannot believe I forgot to mention the bible of Mexican extreme music, Mexican Underground Metal 1984-1994, this fanzine is perfectly done the way I like it, chronologically, besides it's done even ordered by cities which melted my brain! This demonstrate pure passion and research, i fukin loved it, it is something you probably keep in your furniture for further reading because the amount of unknown projects (at least for me) is vast, is written in a really humble way and everything you need to know from Mexico is there. The only drawback I found is it has some images in bad quality, but as claimed by the author, it seems few people cooperated with him to do it, which is quite sad in fact... This publication is a total must. Something spectacularly done is that some information is repeated in future articles by the author for you to remember what you could have read in previous chapters, that is fantastic if your drunkfukedupmind can't retain much information. As far as I remember this one is sold out but it really needs a reprint, I believe what you can get is the next edition which issue bands from the next period of time in Mexico that is still available. I am really happy with this one and to know I gave my support to someone that really deserves it.
