TRADING LIST

MESSIAH(Swi) is one of the most legendary bands coming from Switzerland among the well known CELTIC FROST(Swi) band. But speed and chaotic riffings govern on this act. In my opinion "Hymn to Abramelyn" is one of those pieces of art that are a must in your collection. It is a humble masterpiece since you hear the messiah itself saying "good people but bad musicians", that introduction is hell of a phrase, they ruled beyond expectations, I think nowadays is quite a trend to follow acts like this, if you mention SADISTIK EXEKUTION(Aus) , POISON(Ger) , SADUS(US) , EXCRUCIATION(Swi) and MESSIAH you are probably a "good metalhead" fuk that shit... listen to this for passion, you won't regret it. Their demo entitled "Thrashing Madness" is just epic as its title is. Later on you have the "Extreme Cold Warther" album, I think the best of it is its b-side, a live gig mostly with "Hymn to Abramelyn" tracks which kills of course... then the I think the band splitted, then resurrected for "Choirs of Horror" album, I think is an standar Death Metal from the 90s album... from time to time you can appreciate one or to catchy riffs but nothing more than that... Brogi, the guitarrist, exploded his creativity on the previous releases, where speed, simplicity and agression were part of the deal... here he just fell into what one could think as a desperate action to fit into the DM from the time... I am writing about them on the fly because I spent the whole week listening to this last LP I happen to have on tape from the bootleggers MG records. Totsi is not part of the line up either... so without his chaotic screams MESSIAH is pointless. This reminded me you should also check THANATOS(Hol) live tape from 87 were this Totsi guy was invited to be part of the setlist I cannot recall the name of the track but I think it was "Dethroned Emperor" cover from CELTIC FROST(Swi). Continuing with this unorganized words... on Extreme Cold Weather, lyrics are too simple and funny... you feel cold in an extreme cold weather... blabla... don't fight when in the mosh... hahaha some riffs are clones from their first LP, so definately the b-side is what you must listen to. This was vomitted just to mention MESSIAH here in orded to be a goog metalhead myself HA HA! By the way, Broggi had Cruise Missile band too... was not that good at all, but it is interesting to check what he tried to do when MESSIAH was inactive, The Legend I think it's the name of the demo and I guess it was recorded in 87. He is also in vocals, but is not as good as Totsi was. Give it a try anyway, slow thrash with some good and awful parts. Until next time.
