Fuk off life, but still struggling... vomits of hate: CEMETERY(Rus) - Incursion of the dark demo 1992. Dubbed tape. Death Metal project in the 90s vein, luckily preserving the sharp distortion from the previous decade, what makes them quite original. I missed this when reissued by Chupacabras Records years ago, but finally managed to get decent audios for a tape to pull memories from my brains. Starting with "Blood" you will recognize the tremolo approach inspired by classics, with a vocalist that can be linked to Raúl Guzman from TOXODEATH(Mex) on their first LP "Mysteries of life and death" era, and CHAKAL(Bra) in their "Anno Abominable Domini" era. "Terrible Dream" comes as if it were a PHANTASM(Rus) track, fukin love this sound, 100% Russian. "Doomsday" , slowest parts could even take you to Аспид(Rus) . And to kill this 4-track demo "Creation of a zombie" following what was already exposed on previous tracks. A fully consistent demo with great quality in all aspects. One could be repelled by the 90s vein but, believe me, this has a foot on the first russian metal wave, is not another overproduced project. Recommended onehundertrussian percent! MORTAL SCEPTER(Fra) - Ethereal Dominance LP 2025, by Xtreem Music Records. This label did an excellent work on releasing such an amazing band. Starting with "Ethereal Dominance" track, you automatically know this is what you were looking for; its identity is absolutely intact, what was improved (if there was something to improve), in comparisson with their previous LP "Where Light Suffocates", was the production, it suits this album 100%. The capabilities of these deathrashers are amazing, on this track you will find great up-downs, lunaticfingers-riffs and changes that blow your brains out, accompanied by the killer solo-works, with much less black metal vibes than what they used to have, technical aspects surpass that sphere of influences this time, in my opinion got better. "Redshifting to Death" it's restless, when cuts with "no; more; shelter; ..." phrase, doublekicking smashes your skull. "Blindsight" still insatiably, kills , DEATH(US) , CYNIC(US) demo era, REVENANT(US) , may be ATHEIST(US) with some LOUDBLAST(Fra) , on their track "Black Death" and AGRESSOR(Fra) with a foot on MASSACRA(Fra) are found here , with no exception, comparable with RIPPER(Chl) , SCHIZOPHRENIA(Bel) and contemporary counterparts. "Omegacide Deadrays" is the first track introducing a catchy chorus and the kind of riffs found on "Schizophrenia" LP by SEPULTURA(Bra) . "Submit to the Crave" opens B-SIDE supremely, a mixture of MERCILESS(Swe) with AURA NOIR(Nor) "Black Thrash Attack" is present, above the already mentioned influences. "Reverse Paradigm" also plays around with a catchy chorus, this time much present which I believe is not that healthy for the track, but the track is great too anyways, great solos on the top of a POSSESSED(US) -ish hammerishing-riffs, and some VEKTOR(US) is also present on the last mid-tempo, which makes sense on the whole topic surrounding this album, sci-fi goes hand-in-hand with skilled music ha! Its impressive artwork plus the IRON MAIDEN(UK) kind of font used on the backcover, were a great introduction to what one can find here. "Sense Ablation" keeps in the same direction, with much classical Thrash Metal approach, including a mixture of EXODUS(US) with MORBID ANGEL(US) thanks to palm-mutes and tremolo plus those MA chords, great track. "Into the Wolves Den" starts with some great solos and melodies but falls just right into their, previously used, Thrash Metal decorated with a Black Metal-ish style, as the flame of their own touch, drumming creativity seems boundless, an astonishing balance between guitars and drums, pretty long track but not boring at all. These guys were not only solid in releasing such a fukin awesome new LP, but also on their lineup, which I totaly believe this helps them to achieve such an outstanding result and still present identity. This was released on all formats so get your hands on it as fast as fuk! Highly Recommended! TERRIFIC VERDICT(Fin) - Demo 1988, dubbed. Impressive Thrash Metal from finland in the very vein of the best from MORPHOSIS(Fin) mixed with LYCANTHROPY(Fin) and some PROTECTED ILLUSION(Fin) . As you may expect, they were also issued on the second part of the Thrashing Relics compilation (I still haven't got it). Tracks are, "The mystery of Phantom" , "No Return" , "Physical Tendency" starting as if it were the cut in "Rokalkol" by the locals FAKIN BIRRA(Ury) ha! "Radically Suicide" with some DEVASTATION(US) texas riffs, If I am not wrong, "N.R.D." and last "Violence". Pretty good. Recommended too! Thanks mediocridad for this one! did you notice the demo artwork looks like bruno's kind of drawings!? HA! (greetings bruno!) TERRIFIC VERDICT(Fin) - Lost preacher Demo 1989, dubbed. Luckily ideas seem quite intact with little differences in terms of production, so both demos could be experienced as a full-length album. An intro opens this, then "Lost Preacher" quite slow, with many cuts but wicked vocals, "Maltreatment of Fortitude" with some HC-vibe/groove on drummings but not awful at all, great present bass, "Memories (Mental Damage)" , "Pressing the flesh", "Madness" and "Dream of the summernight". Not impressive but good demo too. TYFOON(Bel) - Criminal Death 2025 compilation by FOAD Records. Belgian Thrash Metal project, in a cleaner YOG SOTHOTH(Can) way, plus a notorious BLACK SHEPHERD(Bel) influence on first track. Really impressive, I had no clue about them and it's totally interesting. Tracks are "Criminal Death" , "Curse of Hate", that leads to "Flag of Hate" by KREATOR(GER) mixed with "S.D.I." by VIOLENT FORCE(Ger) , so you get the idea, "Gaschamber" is totally SODOM(Ger) ala "Blasphemer", closing with "S.W.H." track, in the very same vein. "The Edge of Violence" 1992 demo, starts with "The Edge of Violence" , cleaner sound, more professional and seems more skilled too, not bad either, the production and path looks as if it were BATTALION(Dnk) , listen to the ride sound! slow part reminded me of AUTOPSIA(Ger) , both previously reviewed. Second track is "Damnation Day" a little bit more deathrash, due to tremolos, but has a really vomiting clean-vox-arpeggio shit that ruins it, and "Deadline" is the last one, good chorus effects. Pretty killer catch indeed, recommended, mainly for their '87 demo. Thanks again den! TOTAL DESASTER(Col) - Warfare Noise Demo 2011 by Metal Tifus Productions on tape, dubbed copy. The title says it all, expect an absolutetly brazilian influenced project here. "Dive Bomber" opens after the intro, the guitar tune is identical to SEPULTURA(Bra) 's "Morbid Visions", but somehow amateurish, vocals also mimick that era. The sound in general terms seems taken from a rehearsal but it's quite profesional because bass and drumming are really clean, solos too. "Hell Attack" is its second track, the very same line with a slower cut that took me to METAL ATTACK(Bol) . "Devastation" follows, a little bit more HC instead, it's slower than before, "Armies of Death" keeps the vibe. "Antichrist" by SEPULTURA was added as cover. Sadly this does not provide anything too interesting to keep the listener on the mood, it's classic, yes, it has excellent roots, yes, has a primitive approach and not too skilled execution, yes, but anyway, it fails to keep you just there, becaues everything done here, was done before so many times that seems pointless, like a cheap copycat band. I encourage you to give them a try and check it by yourself, coming from Colombia, I would have expected something more colombian-influenced at least, or may be a little bit more original with its own identity. SYSTEM OF HATE(US) - Cost to live 2024, 2025 RE by Metadona Records on LP as S.O.H. Outstanding HC project from California, influenced by DISCHARGE(UK) , PINK TURDS IN SPACE(UK) , SOBERANIA PERSONAL(Arg) and GBH(UK) . What makes them so appealing is the versatility found on the female vocalist who happens to be astonishingly aggressive. I had no clue about them, I received an email from the labels newsletter and blew my mind when checked it on their bandcamp website. "Delirium" opens the album in a perfect manner. "Walang Paglaya" demonstrates the creativity found on drums with a typical strong bass, this tracks shows off the Philipineans roots from some member(s). The artwork screams "City babies attacked by rats" without any doubt. Some traces of MINOR THREAT(US) are also present, like "In my eyes" track when on "All Heart", and I also believe they have a foot on FEARLESS IRANIANS FROM HELL(US) , check the track "Radiation". I would also link them with GISM(Jpn) due to the end of "Prized Pigs". "Annihilate" has a short solo in the vein of the Uruguayans surfrockers THE SUPERSONICOS(Ury) AH!! Definitely hell of a release if you thought no new HC band could break your jaw. "Restless", "Dead anyway" and "Generation" are the last tracks culminating the superb recording. This is a release I won't doubt buying it when I get the chance!! Highly recommended for HC psychos out there who are tired of DISCHARGE copycats! APOSTASY(Chl) - Death Return 2021 by Cabalist Records on tape. As far as I remember, the jump between their demo "Fraud in the name of god" from 1988, to their first album, was quite huge in terms of ideas, honestly I was not interested in what they did then. This time, this tape was thrown to me, "check it, you'll like it", it was totally true, this recordings preserves the line of their demo with much better production, totally chilean production, in fact, without listening to it, when I read "deceased in funeral" and "the night" as part of the tracklist, I was shocked, not too positively, that those tracks were re-recorded in 2020. But... this convinced me, this is a really good release. If you are into their demo, this is a good return without no doubt, as claimed by its title. Tracks are "Intro", quite NOCTURNUS(US) I'd say, "Death Returns", at some point ressembles to DRENCROM(Chl) in vocals and almost speed, "Jus Primae Noctis" comes with that SLAYER(US) and BATHORY(Swe) lines and a rythm in the very line of BULLDOZER(Ita) , killer solo works, "Son of Hate" in the very same line but I found some traces of CHAKAL(Bra) too in its background and in their black metal chants could be linked to HELLAVENGER(Chl) , "Deceased in funeral" , "The great Apostasy", "The Night", "Praise of darkness" and "Obey the Antichrist". If by any chance you see it, get it, not only the artwork is killer but their music! Thank you very much Cancer for this one! WHIPSTRIKER(Bra) - Only Filth will Prevail 2016, RE CD by Morbid Tales Records. My background on this project was "Crude Rock 'n' Roll" album, which in my opinion has a great unique vibe. This one, despite having the very same line, I cannot avoid thinking of "Satanic Royalty" album by MIDNIGHT(US) , vocals are that similar during this recording session that is, for a, somehow, limited genre, difficult to make its own space. Don't get me wrong, the album is well recorded, some solos are still on its own line, but there's nothing fresh, or at least I could not find it, just a couple of interesting moments throughout the whole album. This is a fukin great project, probably killer live, but this is a CD I would not listen actively, it's much more like for having it on the background, probably for sex sessions, beer action or both. Recommended for Metal Hardrockers. FLAGELATOR(Bra) - Assalto da Motosierra 2014, CD by Obscure Chaos Distro. Starting with the omonimous track, DESTRUCTION(Bra) 's "Bestial Invasion" was mimicked, the whole project swims among thrash metal classics, 80s black metal and heavy metal. This is a project I saw live in Sao Paulo and was fukin amazing, the energy they have and the excellent execution you can appreciate. Their main key point is it's sung in portuguese. Highly recommended for restless black thrashers. SNAKEPIT(Fra) - Issue #22 2016 magazine printed by NWN Prods. Hit my face yes, Is the first time I read an issue from this famous author among the underground dwellers. As soon as I read the intro by "pissed-off" Laurent, I knew I was going to die by the sword. HEXX(US) interview , in depth, starting with their full history, when they were known under the monicker of PARADOX(US) , kills with hell of funny anecdotes, stories and behind the scenes paragraphs, it even counts on some gossipping around their reunion and what happened with these dinosaurs while trying to accomodate their lineup,etc... so hilarious it transported me into ANGKOR VAT(Ury) 's rehearsal room a few years ago when they were exploring the very same path. THE BEAST(US) is the second interview, greatly done too. SLAYER(US) 's Steven Craig & Doug Goodman interviews are absolutely brillant! I could not believe my eyes. This is a total passion demonstration. ONSLAUGHT(UK) intense and extense interview, full of gossipping and anecdotes was also included, nice to read about their early days and their progression, or termination ha! Ahh man, I totally fell your frustration when on ZOETROPE(US) 's interview, that shit happens all the fukin time, anyhow, you got a pretty descent result! Was nice to read it. Good interview with SIN STARLETT(Swi) , another Switzerlandish Heavy Metal band that drews my attention along with AMETHYST(Swi) , I don't possess anything from them but I definitely will sooner or later, pretty interesting discovery. SANCTUM(US) interview, a band I had no clue, interesting, will check them out later. Pretty good and fun interview with GARGOYLE(US) , I had no idea there were another band named in the same way (hello Pat, thanks for the "violence is golden" ! ) . To my surprise a south american band was included, the chilean cult PENTAGRAM(Chl) , but honestly, this interview is quite shallow, mostly if you think about anton's activities during the early metal scene in his country, who had impact in its surroundings too. Then a MEGADETH(US) DARK ANGEL(US) WARGOD(US) 's drummer Wiliam Lee Roth and the LA scene, pretty killer to read with great context. The EXCITER(CAN) interview is fukin hellishly impressive! DARK ANGEL(US) 's Don Dotty interview also appears, which is great too, which digs around its early days as SHELL SHOCK(US) and some gossipping that could not be left out ha! A pretty interesting interview with RAPID TEARS(Can) , a project I had no clue about, so I am writing it down, along tons of others, since the author exposes tons of knowledge throughout each question! To close questionaires, an spectacular TANK(UK) interview was here!!! A reviews section was also included. After all, this was what I was told... just brilliant. I wonder how previous issues are! devastating lecture I may say, despite the font used for the answers (my eyes got punished, sympthoms of a getting-old-fuk surely) , hugely recommended!! last words for my abhorrent publications... XTREEM MUSIC RECORDS did hell of a work with its 10 inches of death cults, so I encourage you to get in touch with the label, get the DECEASED(US) and ATOMIC AGGRESSOR(Chl) releases among MORTAL SCEPTER(Fra) , you won't be disappointed, pure classics in the vein we all devoted our lives for! Thanks for reading my words, let's wait for the new LIFE ETERNAL PRODUCTIONS releases and greetings to those who have been supporting all my shit in one way or another, I am always in the very same place, at the very same pace (my own) and within the very same coffin, no bullshit, just plain and simple, schizodeathlunatic of deathrashing insanity!
