Luckily some gigs around made my mind back to almost (ab)normality. Fighting back! This time these stuff: TERRAHSPHERE (US) - Third in order from the Sun 1991 + 1988 demo Eternally Scarred. First listenings were tough, mostly because the first track is hugely weird in vocals but honestly, after three times this stuff get's right into your face... is highly technical thrash metal. Naming again Dark Symphonies Records and also owning MYSTO DYSTO, you know the line is the same... this band is fantastic, has lots of stuff in common with acts like ATHEIST, little HELLWITCH and ASPID too. I would remark "Plan of Observation" (here we have an X-file!), "Under the black Moon" and "New Clear Day" tracks but honestly I enjoyed it all! The demo is exactly in the same vein, more Speed Metal with some EXCITER's influence mostly in vocals but musically speaking is a techincal speed metal, "Vicious Circle" track reminded me of PADDOK from 'Brigada Metallica' Uruguayan compilation too, "Apocalipsis" track in the solo part, mostly the guitar tune and distortion. If you are into weirdness of music, well, this is one of those bands you will remember your whole life for sure thanks to "Re-emergence of Atlantis" track that opens this album! By the way, the artwork is supreme for this kind of act! EVIL SINNER (Bel) - Merciless demo 1987, I hardly check mp3 stuff but Fukulu (my friend from the act HEFESTO) told me about them, I got the mp3 through slsk as one expect and listened to it right away, since I don't know too much projects from that country. To my surprise this demo is in the vein of BLOOD FEAST, killer act, raw sounding, the guitar tune is excellently taken as if it were a rehearsal (probably is), and drums sounds really live. It seems to have no production at all which makes it even more appealing to my mind. All tracks are great except the last one which seems to be added just to fill the space."Merciless" track is the odd one here because it adds more speed and ends up with some CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER similarities and kills. Great discovery by my young fella! A dubbed tape from this act or good rip from the tape will be more than wellcome! NAÑ - A Close Friend of Death demo compilation 2014 - released by Metalrace Records, a good Russian metal label. This is a Thrash/Crossover project quite good, I say 'quite' because I don't like this genre in general terms, but this one was an exception, it is good. Sadly this release is not as impressive as some of the other releases this label has already done. If you are willing to explore their scene as I do, you will not be dissapointed, it is a good item to have and is not that expensive either. Includes their two demos, one from 1990 and the other 1992, the first one is the one I enjoyed the most, the second one is not that impressive and it even includes the best tracks from the first one... vocals are identical, like if those two years never passed, but I felt more comfortable with their first one. What I do hate from this label, no fukin word in English! Ha ha, every release of them is purely Russian, it is pretty sad since I would love to read about bio's from the bands they tend to add (not in this release, the insert is hugely poorly done). KGB - CMEPTbH BOCCTABWNÑ 1992, Another Metalrace release wonderfully done, its insert is printed beautifully with some "shinny" parts in the logo and such. Excellent Technical Thrash Metal like what Russians always tend to do... tracks are really lengthy, I could relate this with ASPID band but not that fast as "Extravasation" album is. It always blows my mind when you listen to some simple Riff and Russians just do the maths to make it more complex each time!!! I think Russian metalheads have always had some sort of function in their brains, ala f(x)=i, where x is your riff and i is an impossible riff !!! Ha ha! This music is mostly instrumental, vocals are great but they are not used too much. Not too much pictures but great high quality ones and I cannot state anything else on this because I know no Russian. Totally recommended their sound is as sharp as 80's which I fukin love in 80s Russian sound as a fukin beer!. TREBLINKA (Swe) - Bootleg CDR compilation with "Crawiling Vomits" demo 1988, "The sign of the Pentagram" demo 1989 and "Severe Abominations" EP 1989. I always ignored this band because I thought it was purely black metal, the kind I don't like, what a fukin poser I am... This is Death Metal with black atmosphere, thrash parts and primitive. The first demo has a middle-distortion-like guitar which at some point reminds me of BATHORY (first era), but musically is not like that... Is not a fast kind of music at some points, great riffs with the kind of drumming you could expect in Black/Death metal bands, probably this could be considered as a proto Black/Death because of its lack of speed and morbid notes, the track "Earwigs in your Veins" totally reminded me to that jazzy/experimental black metal BELIAL (Chile) did in their "Homo Lycanthropus"! I noticed that HTC fanzine from my chilean friends took the name from here and in this very track named "Hail to Cruelty" I even found a riff similar to "Death Metal to the grave" from my act PHERETRUM, what!? crazy fuk! "Cadaverous Odour" start with Rock music, crazy... it twist my mind! And there you instantly recognize AGRESSOR,SEPULTURA,MUTILATOR brazilian kind of riffing. After this release, the advance in the band with more distorion in guitars and a highly improved drumming, this is indeed a somber Death Metal with more speed and great riffs and vocals turned from a sort of BlackMetalish tune into almost PESTILENCE/MERCILESS/Chilean kind of screams. Even the guitar tune could be expected in bands like DEMIGOD,DEMILICH,FUNEBRE from the finnish scene. Astonished me because I was not expecting it. Also included slow parts which was not common in the demo, with the blackish melody I kind of dislike, at least in the openning track "Nocturnal Funeral". "Evilized" is faster and it has blues rythms in guitars! WOW!!! At some points something rang the bell in relation to MORBID (Swe) act, a Riff or something. The EP is probably their peak, it counts with an improved version of "Earwigs in your Veins".The openning track "Severe Abomination" even made me thought of a Hardcore influence and of course when blasts is like SARCOFAGO. The riff which cuts the track in half is like listening to the death itself with a flute! wonderful! Even the part with weird chorus is magnific. Generally speaking, ideas in guitar riffs seem to come from ancient Brazilian deathrash metal, if you forget about the music and analize guitar riffs, you can for sure think of this. What else can I say of this great obscure encounter I just had?! This band is big and now I know why. ADDITION: I would like to thank all those warriors from abroad that are letting me know that the works done in Extreme Resurrection fanzine is good and also those telling me that they are enjoying our music in PHERETRUM. We feel honoured and will keep fighting for the underground spirit no matter what!

Now music: ZEMIAL (Gre) - Sleeping under Tartarus 1992 EP tape traded with El Abismo Store long ago but not listened until now, this is a pure Greek Black Metal band, do this kind of bands count as being from the 2nd wave? because they are in their own fukin vein... this is totally similar to "His Majesty and the Swamp" album. It has only three tracks but really great and somber environments. -addition: after reading about this I verified that he is partly the composer of that aforementioned Varathron LP, that's why it sounds so similar! MABUSE (Nor) - Nekromagik EP tape 2013, excellent Death Metal with that black metal touch thanks to its vocalist, easy linkable with acts like DEATHHAMMER(NOR) and OBLITERATION(NOR), that kind of vein... which all seem to be inspired by "Soulside Journey" which takes you to AUTOPSY (US) realm. Enough said, the self-titled track kills beyond killness! NECROMANCER PRACTITIONER OF EVIL!!!!! (even thou i think the recorind says Master of evil ha ha). It includes a MORBUS CHRON(SWE) cover - "Death Strikes" track. Anyone should get this tape! ELECTROCUTION (Ita) - Into the Unreal 1993, another CD from Dark Symphonies records, i was not expecting a kind of North American Death/Thrash Metal album when i read they were from Italy, this is highly influenced by DEICIDE(US), OBITUARY(US), ATHEIST(US), CYNIC(US) then some UK stuff from CANCER(UK), then some Brazilian stuff from SEPULTURA(BRA) Schizophrenia & Beneath the Remains which i could easily sum up all these as an INVOCATOR (DNK) 's Excursion Demise brother. Pretty killer album anyway, freneticly technical, typical from those years i must say. The second CD includes their demos pre-LP and their last promo post-LP. Their demo "No Rest in Peace" 1990 sounds like "Visions of Lunacy" from NECROMANSY (Gre) and it also counts with this SODOM (GER) 's "Outbreak of Evil" vein. Has nothing to do with what came after. Next demo "The Real Doom" 1991 is almost in the same vein, better recorded and even has a rawer version of their "They died without crosses" track that is in the Into the Unreal, vocals are better in the demo era because are not that cliché, even the sound of the drums is perfect. Then their "Remains" demo 1992, is just preview of what their LP would be, little more rawer but more professional than previous demos. Probably with the aim of showing off their capabilities as highly skilled musicians. This compilation is done in the way i like it, chronologically, you can indeed see the progress of the band throughout the years, and the best is that is well done in 2 CDs, because if you don't enjoy the demos or the LP, you always can stick with the CD you enjoy the most. Congrats on this CD Ted! AGGRESSION (CAN) - The Full Threatment 1987, CD from Morbid Moon Recs, Canadian Thrash Metal with that HC touch thanks to its vocals which seems all the time anxious speedy and without even taking a pause to scream and higher notes on its voice are unbelievably incredible!! Doesn't it sound like Kingsly Folley?! Some screams reminded me of DAMNTATION (CAN) also from Canadá, results quite hard for me to compare them abruptly with well known acts, is in that vein of 80s Thrashcore for sure, but as any Canadian thrash act you always know it has its fresh identity. The whole album is magnific because you can swim among the variety of each track... complex indeed and raw too. CRUDE SS (Swe) - Who'll survive 1983 EP , yes I fall into the lazyness of checking them before buying anything, I burnt my own CDR with some Flacs, sorry for my sin but I will buy something from them because they simply kill. Let me tell you, I would have never checked them if it weren't for the amazingly done DeadHead fanzine, in their issue #7 they interviewed them, nice work, and what drew my attention fully was the airs of Tom G Warrior guitar riffing-ish. Unbelievable how all this happened back then... please I encourage you to buy this underground killer fanzine and read the whole interview because it kills for real. Indeed is the best written fanzine I know by now... I only dislike his lots of wasted space with ugly pictures depicting the awfulness of the posers in his country, is a waste of paper in my honest opinion, funny in one article, yes, but the amount of articles makes it quite boring and pointless because I want to read about music, bands and unknown information this guy has in his brain, and not this bullshit we all already know it is happening because it is a global phenomena... anyway, back to CRUDE SS, is pure violent and obscure Hardcore, I don't know what the lyrics are about but you can figure out by the names of the tracks, anyway I will buy some CD soon since there are reissues. "Forced Values" gives you the right kick in your jaw showing they created CELTIC FROST (SWI) style,guitar tune , riffs, just identical. "Sick Pleasure" exposes it even more also in vocals and some rythms. "Destroy Capitalism" did tome the same CHAOS UK (UK) did with "Victimized" track, transported me to DEATH STRIKE (US) but of course it still has its different musical approach, it is mostly in vocals, "Who'll surive" is the clear example on this, and you of course think about HELLHAMMER(SWI) due to its speed. I will have to grab something from them through trades or whatever, this LP is really really good, besides its artwork is shocking too! I find this as a huge influence in the old HC punk from Paraguay. CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER(US) - live at Ruthie's 20.12.85 , the sideA of my 90' tape... excellent concert with two or three covers of the mighty MINOR THREAT... excellent gig , a recording coming from the previous mentioned pal's personal collection! SACRILEGE(US) - Party with god demo 1985, side B of the tape, which I kept it this one as my always-to-play side! What a fukin excellent demo! all tracks kill beyond killness! starting with "Azmeroth" and the extreme raw power of "Crucified" waah... this is full thrash insanity! IMPERATOR(Pol) - deathlive tape 1987 is beautiful to get to know this thrashing madness, the audience were indeed a legion of maniacs into the mighty imperator hell! Really good sounding, it has two different live gigs with few tracks but hugely enjoyable. A must if you are into this polish act. MASACRE(Col) - Requiem, I never enjoyed it, yes... it is true, in fact some good underground pals always asked me how the fuk I did not... well it was easy to reply because I still don't like the ugly high pitch vocals, BUT ! indeed they remind me of this kind of Deathcrush LP ones... besides the influence of HELLHAMMER is there too... anyway, I used to find it as a really slow album, I was about to give it a way (the bootleg MG tape) but before doing so I listened to it like 10 times, almost the same experience when I first got into Death metal with Blesssed are the sick album without understanding what was going on... well the result was me keeping the tape for myself Ha ha ha! I enjoyed the doomy gloomy obscure lyrical theme sung in Spanish. It is really weird I ended up enjoying it but may be this was a gateway I had to go through. Never is to late to discover new stuff ah? Best tracks in my opinion were "Cortejo Fúnebre", "Justicia Ramera" , "Brutales Masacres" , "Cancer" and I still haven't checked their demos! I hope a friend of mine send me those soon so I can understand more their evolution as they are considered one of the most impressive bands of all times. EXCITER(Can) - First three 12'' spinning on my turntable ... what to say... they kill. If you need Speed metal man... never forget to check this band, newcomers this is unavoidable cult, and I am not misusing the word cult. HEFESTO(Ury) - Morborus demo 2020, unreleased yet but soon to be out under Extreme Resurrection Records here in Uruguay 50 limited copies. This is the most outstanding and weird recording from these times in Uruguay. You won't be disapointed. I am just mentioning it here because their tracks are excellent, you will be able to grab a tape soon! AUTOPSY(US) - Critical Madness the Demo years 12'', I already had these demos (Critcal Madness and the 1987 demo) but dubbed from tapes and I always believed that I had been cheated on the Critical Madness demo because the tracks were exaclty in sound like the ones coming from Severed Survival, so I bought it in order to get this demo with its original sound, and I knew it! The sound is indeed different. Besides I do like having original stuff from them. If you are able to pay for this you won't be disapointed but you know you can always ask for dubbed tapes from this for those who already bought it ;) Oh I almost forgot, to complete each side of the 12'' the label included rehearsal tracks contemprary to each demo. I found funny the artwork, reminds me a lot of a Horror film I cannot remember its name now, the one that a killer with a grass cutter runs over lots of kids who were playing baseball hahahaha... but I am not sure if it is taken from there. TERMINAL DEATH(Chl) - EP 2019 tape, not the original from US ones... this are the chileans guys who sent me the master so I could spread their name here in my country, excellent chilean deathrash ! with its chilean fury and roots undoubtly! 5 obscure tracks excellently composed and their vocals are killer. CRUCIFIXION(UK) - After the Fox CD comp by HRR 2019 - I got this one thanks to my friend fukulo (from HEFESTO) who told me this was released... I already had their bootleg 7" Death Sentence/The Fox, which in my opinion has the best tracks from them... now I got this CD which it is indeed beautifully done. It had some tracks with another vocalist which I hadn't listened to them before...Pretty good, reminded me of SAXON's vocalist at times. The booklet has plenty of information with some great pictures. The biography is really good too. And now I am able to listen to the Green Eyes EP which I think is a good as the first one! EVIL SPECTRUM(Per) - Heic Noenum Pax 2019 split CD with the chilean act UTTERTOMB, well... EVIL SPECTRUM kicks your fukin jaw instantly ! I was recommended this band long ago but as it was a quite new project I only wanted to listen to them whenever I had the opportunity to buy something, my last time in Chile I bought this CD but I did not listen to it until now... Peruvian hellish maniacs totally demonstrated Perú has great roots in what it was the ancient Brazilian scene, they had even included "Spirit of Evil" from the gods VULCANO, and you can feel the really good MORBID ANGEL also SEPULTURA influence in guitar arrangements and drums. This is a good band to have into account whenever the hell they release stuff! Chilean act was quite dissapointing in my honest opionion, since I love chilean death/thrash this is quite boring and some melodic parts spoiled the thing, it is quite obscure indeed but is not the kind of stuff I was expecting from Chile after reading their name in quite lots of fanzines and sites. CHAINSAW(Gre) - Hill of Crosses 2018 this is a reissue of their stuff done by the label Vulkan Records from my friend Godwin which happened to release an excellent Black/Thrash Metal with lots of fury... this album is quite aggressive and catchy with great riffs inspired by old DEVASTATION,SODOM, KREATOR and keep it going in the German vibe ... but once you get into the demo part well... here you are into a mixture of the before mentioned but with huge Greek touches on it. Sadly this demo sounds like recorded with a digital drumset which yahkk! WHY!? anyway vocals are really good. here they included two covers one from BULLDOZER and one from VENOM. Whenever you have the opportunity grab this alkoholik greek thrash CD because you won't be disappointed. MYSTO DYSTO(Hol) - The Rules have been Disturbed 1986 RE 2016 by Dark Symphonies recs... a label that has been doing a great job in top quality CD releases and their printing smells like old ink! Well this one I never heard of them before, it was just when I went with my brother Bruno (from PHERETRUM,Extreme Resurrection Records) to pick up MORBID BLOOD tapes to Buenos Aires , when at the well known Parque Centenario (traders zone) , we were drinking beer with some friends until Hugo from (Sons of Hell Prods) took us to another friend's house while playing this at full volume on his car... well , I remembered them more Deathrashy but is speed metal extremely technical with greats riffs everywhere. Vocals are OK, at moments remind me of TOKYO BLADE, JUDAS PRIEST,XeNe3HbIN MOTOK with lots of METALLICA,ABATTOIR... This release includes their demo from the next year which includes three extra tracks that are not part of the LP. This band kept playing later under the monicker of MANDATOR but as I don't have anything from them it will keep listed in my future-recordings-to-know list. Speed tracks to highlight "Power of the Law", "Tarantula", "Atila the Destructor", "Full speed to Hell", this last has lots of deaththrash tremolo picking at its beginning! and the demo tracks. PERESECUTION(Aus) - Tortured Existence 1989 RE 2015, another Dark Symphonies Recs attack... well it is indeed pretty hard to find something from Australia not being fukinly amazing , isn't it? This maniacs I knew them quite long ago I don't remember how, probably just by getting my hands dirty into the insane Aussie scene. This is a pure Slayer worship but more extreme with a rawer vocalist with more aggressive vox tune that could be perfectly compared with Kam Lee in MASSACRE's recordings. The firs four tracks of this CD are from this demo, last tracks are from their demo under the name of NO REMORESE, belive me, the only point on having those tracks here is just for historical purposes because they are not trascendent at all. Like almost everything coming from this continent, you won't be disappointed at all, you should grab this CD instantly and enjoy it with cold beer... oder ein Deutscher bist du!

Trash is everywhere so feel the joy of being a black sheep of the family. Here I go; Fúnebre from DL50(PAR) is a friend of mine who indirectly encouraged me to move my mind towards Hardcore music. Since my first day digging into the death metal graves I thought, one has to start from the beginning, that's what I did with metal and that's what I am tyring to do this time with HC. This led me to the UK82 movement, and to came across with a well written site named like this: http://www.punk77.co.uk/ Here I came across with the historical progression of this music gender and started playing DISCHARGE (UK), their demos from the 70s, to my surprise, I thought this was HC, instead I found a pretty rotten Punk music visceral and demented as I hoped not to find. This made me be really into the band... for months listening to this I ended up burning some CDRs for me and some friends around with flacs files found on slsk, you know, spread the chaos when you find it... next step was to buy the reissue on 12'' since I fukin loved this. After months listening to the perfectly entitled "Hear Nothing, See Nohting, Say nonthing" LP, with my huge dissapointment noticing the vocalist was removed and replaced by an ugly vocalist I thought I would never enjoy them as a HC band... well, wrong was I yes! ; happened that the most I disgust it, the most I enjoyed it... finally I can say it's fukin killer! ... drunk with power, obssessed with death, death n destruction, drunk with power! power! poweeeehhhh!!! I am lying here... my first encounter with the 60s wave of Punk was RAMONES, but honestly, I need speedy music. Back with the DISCHARGE's music, well... I think is no news after few listenings that MOTORHEAD(UK) was the keypoint in the whole music world, the distorted ripped bass sound is everything, one can see this on VENOM almost at the same time when HC was developing in UK. But as I never gived a damn shit on the music genre, I can't believe it also helped to expulse HC from the deadbabieswoumbfactory. As I cannot explain myself with lots of nerd information about bands because I am not a living enciclopedia, I can only say what are the steps I took to enrich my music tastes in this field. Now I must thank Fúnebre, you were right indeed, thank you very much for your struggle my friend. After loving the HC Punk compilation previously mentioned here, yes, the Japanese one, well... I am moving on... BAD BRAINS (US) the omonimous LP from '82 is a kind of HC version of their previous LP which is Punk, you know, same ideas but slower. This one was recommended by Emiliano from DEFORME (URY) long long time ago, but I usually ignore recommendations because i need to organize myself to keep each step in my schedule for checking bands I still don't know... finally I did it pal, this LP kills, I completely hate the reggae music, abhor it with my whole skeleton, but the rest is perfect, without knowing this icon, one cannot realise how much this helped to influence bands like LOS CRUDOS(URY), FUN PEOPLE(ARG),etc,etc,etc... but the most I listen the most I astonish myself... can you believe this track named "Big Take over" starts almost exaclty like "Nosferatu" from HELLWITCH (US) !! ???? Yes my friend, I have to dig in some old interviews to check if Patrick was into them which I believe he was. Another step taken was moving to MINOR THREAT (US), there's a compilation with their EP's from 81 released in 84 which is super, my favourite tracks are almost all, but "In My Eyes" and "I don't want to hear it" are from beyond. Do you know what I thought when I could stand this kind of almost clean vocal tunes? Hey... I ignored bands from the US Thrashcore scene from the 80s because I disgusted the vocalists... should I check these bands again? SURE I MUST! My first decision was to relisten to WEHRMACHT (US) , Shark Attack LP and my fukin dispiceable mother, how could I ignore this jem all this time!? I had it in mind like good LP but lacking of good vox, shit man! this is fantastic, from the beginning to the end, drummer is beyong madness, I fukin loved his infinit-outstanding-suprise beats on the Snare! Then, I reminded another band I read about in GLORIOUS TIMES book named CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER (US) like what? ten years ago? ... they were contemporary to the previous mentioned, and they are faster and rawer! Drums kick your mouth instantly! I am talking about Convicted LP from 86, probably in the future I will vomit more words on each LP but separately and in detail... who knows if i will have the will (of death) to do it. I hate listening to digital music as previously stated, but this genre blew my mind so I also felt tempted by Just Another American Band 12'' LP from the gods VERBAL ABUSE (US)released in 83, an LP was about to buy just for the sake of knowing them because I read flyers with their name and thought they could kill... guess what? fukin fast HC with few Thrash touches... excellent! Returning to the bloody England (read it with a potato in your mouth so you can sound like a real bloody English! Haha, just a joke english readers , I know there's none anyway). My friend Nikki from DURO Y A LA ENCIA (ex-RADIO/now Fanzine) told me I should check CHAOS UK (UK), what a name ma meeenn!! I fukin did it, this time violating my personal rule of not deorganizing my listening but! their demo is from 81 and kills, but beyond the killing... did you listen to the "Victimised" track?! Ask Paul Speckmann whose reverb he took the idea from to apply on DEATH STRIKE (US) !!! I can't stop being amuzed by this coincidences... anyway, their huge progression in sound terms is in their first EP namaed Burning Britain from 82 which is perfect sounding, MOTORHEAD-ish bass here like the DISCHARGE (UK) EP's like the Decontrol EP'' ,etc,etc... so it is fantastic. I took one step forward since their demo and EP's are short and got their first LP, I realised this guys are up to here... Burning Britain, their demo and another EP before the LP are good, I forgot the damned long named that EP had... it's OK but not as outstanding as these previous two are. So no need to add more words for this, keep in mind I am a fan of the rotten rebels. Well, for now I think it's all... I will keep my hands dirty with all these for quite a long time, there is so much to learn! besides, I have some southamerican jems that I won't write about them this time because I need to get into them more deeply before saying shit! ha ha. I hope this can help someone who is willing to get into the roots of fast music, sadly it took me years to realise about all these... some stuff I already knew, some others I did not... but it's plenty of unignorable jems and it was my time to get into them... so keep the hatred flame burning and avoid depresion!
