Hey there if someone's reading... to be honest, I have been not in the mood to write. As a deathrasher warrior guided by the ancient rules of the underground and nature, I feel force to write few words about my current mind status. I have been listening to few recordings lately, I have been overwhelmed by the massive destruction of human rights in the whole continent of southamerica. "Cycle's eternal loop" I may self-quote, those who firmly believe on the underground, we are together on this, rebel. CONCEIVED BY HATE(Sal) - Death & Beyond 2016, coming from El Salvador released by Morbid Skull Records/Profaner Records, is a Death/thrash band with a Swedish sound, automatically thought of WORSHIP DEATH(Chl) from chile, already mentioned here. "Crossroad of fire" is the first track and is just great. Vocals are pretty killer and riffs are just the well-chosen ones. The production is top-quality released, its aethetics are perfect and its artwork is superb and it was done by the guitarrist! "This is the underground", a pretty huge statement for a band to carry with, they are against their fake scene out there, this is from 2016 so I don't know if it is still valid, but as the decline of Metal is here to stay, probably it still is, good lyrics, I presume this should have been written in Spanish too because the message stays there were you are if that's the case... anyway, it is a great track. A good exposure of their reality, no money, no labels, etc,etc... anyway, expect nothing do infinit! "Chaos Upon us", this track just introduced those CARCASS(UK) "Heartwork" kind of riffs I just do not enjoy... ending in a kind of deathcore-ish breakdowns with a technical twist I just don't like... then it comes back to the ancient vibe it previously had, culminating with an almost-Bill Steer-like solo and falling into a slow tempo riff with keyboards and then again the breakdowns I insistently despice. "The Underdog", , it's not THE KAGAS! Ja ja! almost melo-thrash track, vox is that good that for moments I just don't care about the melo-ugly parts. Also good lyric theme about the "pose" attitude with bulletbelts,gas masks,corpsepainting,etc... this guys are one of us! "...judged by the color of the skin...", I pressume they are anti-racists which I feel I have to highlight. Anyway, first two tracks were better. "We choose who suffer" besides the swedish sounding I think Immolation could be sited here because of the tremolo but the stench of rotting CARCASS is still there, also a "Where the smile lives" MORBID ANGEL(US) riff I heard. This was the end for the A side, "Worship the old ways", lyrics are about, yes, you know it... the ancient ways, struggling to preserve what now is dead, avoiding internet,etc,etc... anyway youtube,facebook links are on the tape's insert. Musically not bad nor the best. "Bellow the pale sky", starts with an awful intro and it remains awful like its name, may be could be good for those into melodic black metal or that kind of crap. "Summoning the grave" starts not that good but at least removes the bad taste of ist predecessor. And they keep the omonimous track for the last, started like a Domination's MORBID ANGEL's era but turned again into that Swedish stuff... more CARCASS again but from the "Necroticism" era, not bad, two fuking great solos! I thought this band would be more southamerican but OK, not bad.I am keeping this tape for the sake of the first two tracks and having something from this country. BLOODSPILL(US) - demo 1988, weeks ago I received a newsletter from my friend hellavenger from Chile (Abismo Store, Hellavenger,Deathwards,etc) who I am gladly distributing here because it's pure ancient and current underground news. I hardly know people who do dig into the old deathrash acts, this newsletter had the logo of this band which of course I knew, I couldn't believe it was mentioned here so I spoke with him about it, and guess what, this demo was reissued, I could not afford it but remember, tape trading is the law in these cases, so now I have this majestic cult. Those unknowing it, you will have your brains thrashed out! Deathrashing madness full speed with killing violent vocals, some of the screamings reminded me of DECEASED(US) from their demo era, remember "the evil side of religion" ugly sounding but killer vox!? may be YOG SOTHOTHS vox too... with a notorious influence of DEATH's soloing. Totally US deathrash, in this vein: DECEASED, NECROVORE(US) ,PRIME EVIL(US) , DEATH(US) and much more for sure! Thanks my friend for this trade you made my day! OMEGA VORTEX(Ger) - Promo 2018 was an extra in the B-side of the BLOODSPILL demo, guess what... is a fukin ultra fast deathrash beyond the underworlds... few can play what this unholy mother fukers play... The first that came into my mind was MARTIRE(Aus) from Australia, but NEKROVOMIT(Can) is in that too... some other could be THRONEUM(Pol) but this is not that Black metal. Four tracks of chaotic and impressive music. SUFFER(Swe) - cemetery inhabitants, what a great name for a demo, coming from Sweden and vomited in 89, the atypical deathrash from those surroundings that I do enjoy. In your face deathrash. This is one of those dubbed tapes I luckily saved from exctinctions from a veteran's collection and ended up keeping it, how couldn't? I may say this band sounds influenced by the chilean PENTAGRAM(Chl) for sure.

TORMENTO BESTIAL(Bra) is a Death metal band coming from Brazil, interesting sound and riffings... reminded me of EXODUS(US) and CELTIC FROST(Swi) in parts mixed with a great DM voice which sent me to the greeks GODLESS(Gre) from my friend Chris. Also for moments reminded me of CORPSE(Ury) an Uruguayan Grindcore Death Metal act from the 90s. Lyrics are written in portuguese which is terrific. Destrucao das Filhas is a great track. I am talking about Holocausto do bode Negro demo 2012. If you happen to be able to get it is good to have in your collection. DANGER CROSS(Gre) coming from Greece, The Art in Pain demo from 89 is pretty killer, sadly it only has 4 tracks and one is an intro! ARGH... I wish it had more tracks. Typical deathrash and to compare it with something else is like SEPTICEMIA(Gre) 's Natorum de Mondo which is from the same year and also BLOODBATH(Ser) from Serbia rang the bell when the tape starts with something of the french AGRESSOR(Fra) and naming the serbian act it is impossible not to mention SEPULTURA(Bra). GREAT PUNK HITS(Jpn) is a compilation from 1983 issuing terrific Japanese HC Punk bands like GISM(Jpn) , THE EXECUTION(Jpn) and G-ZET(Jpn). Those were the ones I enjoyed the most. GISM first track I think is the best they ever recorded, "Death Exclamation", vocals are perfect and you can identify some Japanese scales on guitars that I think even SABBAT applies on their Envenom LP. THE EXECUTION is fast HC in the typical form of the genre, agressive and killer. G-ZET is also the same and their LP drew my attention because is more HM oriented even taking some BLACK SABBATH tunes. It is a really good compilation because if you are an ignorant fuk like me you can get a pretty good introduction to their history in HC Punk and even Heavy Metal, since most of the bands have some winds of that. SLAVA(Mal) - Slava Compilation Vol. I 2001 came with SLAVA #1 fanzine from Malasya, I traded it long ago with the man in charge of it. I cannot state this whole compilation it is good because it is not, most of the bands I just don't enjoy them but I am going to remark the good ones that I did not know. ATAVISM is a Death Metal band coming from Greece, pretty common DM style with groove typical from the early 2000... it is quite good anyway because its groove gives it a Grindcore vibe. The next one is SOILS OF FATE, quite stupid name, I hate this kind of composed names for bands but it is a really good project anyway, at first DECAPITATED from Poland (Winds of Creation era) was the band who came into my mind, is like a technical death metal with few thrash and grindcore groove and vocals are deep growls. Interesting projects, riffs are great. VRYKOLAKAS(Mal) is a well known project from there, in the interview in the fanzine they mention influences from bands like NILE(US) , SUFFOCATION(US) , INCANTATION(US) and some others I cannot recall but their style is good and not a clone, in this particular track vocals sound like NILE anyway. I used to listen to their first demo and this is completely different for what I thought of this band, It used to be more like CELTIC FROST(Swi) , DEATH(US). That's it for the A side that counts on 12 bands. NYARLATHOTHEP(Mal) drew my attention because of its name and the interview here it is also great and pretty informative but the track in the compilation is just crap, I have to dig more into this band because one track is not enough to have a real opinion on it. Side B it's mostly black metal I just don't like. The papers from the Fanzine are good, I liked its design with a high weight cover in sepia, the size of the font is quite small and hard to read sometimes but the information on some interviews are great, some questions are dull and repeptitive but I know by my own experience that it is extremely tough not to repeat questions from band to band. ELECTRICUTION(Swe) it's an Swedish Thrash Metal band with all its characters. Pretty in your face Thrash metal with great riffs. Live Her in the Gutter (the bitch is fat), is the name of their demo and I really enjoyed it. The artwork is completely awful but in this case it does not apply to their music, I found the tape pretty cheap long ago and now I was rechecking it to see if I should get rid of it but It will definately keep in my collection. I can recommend this one in case you came across with it. ALCOHOLIC AGGRESSOR(Arg) coming from Barilloche, South Argentina; seems there is more than hot chocolate there, never went to that place, is quite touristic and expensive as far as I know but also beautiful; luckily this band pop out from there to thrash the shit out of there! Etilic Metal Invocation is the name of the demo I am listening at this very moment. Pure evil thrashing hell inspired by VENOM(UK) with some Punk (this even includes "Angel Dust" cover with a great similar vocal tune), similar to what WHIPSTRIKER(Bra) does in Brazilian soil. Lyrics, as their name itself claims, seems inspired by SARCOFAGO(Bra) with sex drinks and metal and of course, Alcohol is in their veins. I knew this project years ago with their tape entitled Malicious Necrovomit which is brilliant. Highly recommended music for your alcoholic desires.
It's time for an uruguayan classic from people of my age (not too old, not too young), I am talking about CHOPPER (URY) first omonimous LP 1993, years ago it was released on double CD as a 20th anniversary with an extra CD issuing more recordings like different sessions,etc... it was quite good reedition. As vinyl has exploded in the market and most bands are struggling to be edited under this format, CHOPPER was not going to be out of this trend. Now in 2019, months ago it got done in vinyl 12'' format, its aetethics is fanstic, the sound done from the original tapes and remastered made it good, I don't know if it was my gear but I think it has too much bass on the whole sound, the pictures included are amazing but sadly two or three of them look pixeled, that spoiled the tremendous work they did. Anyway, it is a good release, its price is quite high too (US$36 user price), the price you pay being in Uruguay... I bought this one for the sake of having it since is one of the first bands I came across in my way to the underground hole. For those unknowing them, it's a thrash/heavy metal influenced mostly by metallica and pantera with lyrics in Spanish that are direct and clear mostly anti-society scheme, it was also hugely inspired by the Argentinian heavy metal wave which can easily be identified on the vocalist tune. HELLAVENGER (CHL) - Lord of the Burning Abyss 2019 is a chilean act worshiping SLAYER (US) with a personal chilean touch as they always do! Die by the Sword was the first thing that came into my mind when the tape started to roll, vocals from my friend Hellavenger are perfect, in the vein of Jeff Becerra but more HC ala Bob yost in Descecration. Total krushinglykiller thrash ! Another hail for Chile and its top underground of these days! HELLWITCH (US) is one in the top of my north american favs bands and today I was listening to the tapes I got directly through pattrick. This guy is one of the few humble-long-time-metalheads around who is still loyal to the old ways. All of their stuff is perfect, awesomely-technical-deathrash in its purest form, mindblower speed with extremely smart riffs on every fukin song, this pal is one of the best guitar players on earth with no doubt, every fukin arrangement is clever as hell. This band is pure nightmare and those unknowing it deserve nothing more than being bloodsucked by Nosferatu! highlight: "Fate at Pain's End" track, this is from 86 and they were playing hell of an advance DM for the time, even the track "Nosferatu" was mutating since 84 till 90 and you can see that Pat's mind was really ahead, he had forseen the fukin death!! -News: bad ones, Pattrick is suffering from a throat disease so their forthcoming LP is delayed who knows until when. DICK DALE (US) - Now that I said guitar player I cannot avoid mentioning this outstanding one and creator of Surf Rock from the early 60's. If you consider yourself a deather, then you know what Tremolo picking is, this guy ruled the fukin technique long before being used in the style and that is what, for me, makes it a real master. Personally is a great influence on me since the beginning but few metalheads from these days tend to mention influences outside metal, well I just do not give a fuk about stereotypes so fukin deal with it, metal came from something before it and I don't care if you don't enjoy the origins of it, I fukin do with proud! If you want to know a piece of this bombfiretremolopicker check his track entitled Nitro. Not long ago I came across with information regarding the uk82 movement that this guy was a huge inspiration on that too which totally made my brains get fried, I don't know if he was underground or not, but as he is not praised as much as others I believe he was or at least did it for passion as you can see on what he had done. "King of the Surf Guitar" & "Tribal Thunder" cannot be out of your collection! RIP dale, In metal fingers you will always prevail present! ENTRE LA BASURA (ARG) is an argentinian band coming from Rosario which played a DM/Grindcore with antisystem lyrics in spanish which made it appeal to me, my friend Jorge from Grinder Cirujano Recs reissued their demo "En el nombre del fraude, del fisco y de los estados unidos" 1992 and their first LP "Combatiendo al Capital" 1995, both outstanding!! If you are willing to check some underground activism through sounds this is the real deal. I did not know the demo, and believe me their sound is terrific! I thought that the LP was almost impossible to beat but this is at the same level of maniacal vomiting hatred! Short tracks with great identity and includes few tracks written in English too.
