There's always something one can get without even knowing what is going to happen when you finally have it in your own hands. As I enjoy fast death/thrash metal is hard for me to cope with doom stuff. But there's always a chance a band can change your perspective at least at some points. PENTHOS(UK) is one interesting example. I was quite excited about them because I read they wrote lyrics about nihilism, sadly those words are not included in "Lifeless haze" EP tape I got, beautifully released by Visceral Circuit with an absurdly used label as "oldschool death metal". Apart from this not remarkable label, the whole tape is fantastic, it was hard for me to get the vibe, is technical death metal and tuned pretty low, vocals were not great but are not bad, music itself puts you in a weird mood... and this is what I enjoyed the most. Mid tempo parts reminded me of Pestilence and Autopsy at moments but their tune is from somewhere else... I think I must admit they ended up having their own identity thanks to this. "Bodily Shut Down" is not only a good name for a track but also the best track on this EP. If you are willing to experiment something new without leaving the metal realm, this is a good choice, for me it was a mere casualty and I am glad it happened. How not to become gods if their 1987 demo kills beyond the beyondness!!!! Yes I am talking about AUTOPSY(US) because I am relistening to their first demo which sounds perfect, has great tracks and vocals and guitars and drums and everything !! Chris was evil, and is evil now! is there something else to say which hasn't been said yet?! no, THEY SIMPLY RULE! The Horde of Nebulah Records released SABBAT(Jpn) in wonderful tapes with great insert, etc, as this act is obviously well known I'm solely going to say that "Carcass Voice" is maximum death! Apart from these two gems like "Envenom" and "Evoke" are, THNR also released a band unknown to me that is NIGHTPRÖWLER(Ecu) which is black 'n roll metal from Ecuador. Why is that this genre is always a solo-man project ? I can remember "Crude Rock 'n Roll" from the brazilian WHIPSTRIKER(Bra) and also "Farewell to Hell" EP from MIDNIGHT(US) too... may be "The yellow goat Sessions" from JOEL GRIND(US) but I rememer this last one was more into HELLHAMMER(Swi) vein. Anyway, this band for me was good to know due to my ignorant mind, I know no project from there so I was happy to know what was going on there regarding metal. Well achieved VENOM(UK) worship for sure...with violent vocals and rock metal riffs which are always enjoyable. The only thing I find quite stupid and silly and nowadays even for wankers... are lyrics about whores, bitches, and lots of childish shit which we all know is just for wankers... come on... alcohol lust evil and sex lyrics can be good when smartly written, positioning men as something superior to women is just stupid nonesense, and funny though if you imagine this kind of lyrics... because sells pure male propaganda... You are not going to walk into the street and the "bitches" are not going to smell your sexual poison and fuk you deliverately in public, in your dreams... May be is porn for the ears? Hahahaha I don't know. However the music is really good, really... I found this tape greatly catchy and I can recommend it, but I had to make this comment because I see lots of assholes believing they are superior to women,etc... you know what kind of vision I am refering to, so I am not saying this guy from Nightprölwer is stupid or whatever, I am saying that the lyrics are and up to certain extend... nothing more than that. And "Drunk Whores and Destruction" is a terrific track and chorus is great hahahahaha "Night of the Prowler" or "Hammer of Horrors" lyric is much better than this one, my proof to sex-related & better lyrics would be "Sex, Drinks and Metal" , but as we all know SARCOFAGO(Bra) is what it is, mayhemic death! Coming back from Buenos Aires , the BULLDOZER(Ita) show was fun fun fun tastic!!! I was not really sure about attending it, I knew only AC Wild was part of the original lineup so it was quite disappointing... BUT ! He was on bass! weird thou because there was another guy at bass too behind him hahaha... his vocals are perfect, just like on studio despite the pass of time. Pure classics were played like "Cut-throat" , "Whisky Time" , "the Great deceiver", "Fallen Angel" , "The Final Separation" "Insurrection of the living dead" among others I cannot remember at this very moment... I was lucky enough to steal a setlist but it was not necessary, AC WILD was after the show giving it as present for those who were still alive at the gig. Definately a really humble man and was funny to exchange few words with him, he claims his energy keeps him as wild as he says he is! So be it!! Along with this, MORBID FROST(Arg) tape came with me too... "Nihil in Morte" done by CABRA NEGRA PRODS, definately CELTIC FROST(Swi) worship but strangely it has some own creative touches from time to time so is not strictly a clone band... hard to say really. For those who don't know this project yet, guitars/backing vox are done by Javier from BLACK VUL DESTRUKTOR(Arg) and drums by Leo from HORDA PROFANA(Arg) so both know what they were looking for with this release. PACTO AMEN(Chl) is a chilean act unknown to me until now. By the name and how the tape look like I thought it was the typical black metal band I don't like. But I was completely wrong, southamerican doomish black thrash would describe it better. I think I already mentioned I need speed in music, didn't I ? well I thought it was going to be bored by it could be my taste on music is changing or that this project is a good one. I would recommend this band, I don't know nothing more about them but the music is particulary good so get in touch with the band through amenpactoamen[at]hotmail. Previous band was inside a trade I did with mr. Megatherion from WORSHIP DEATH(Chl) (thanks pal for that extra one!!!!), I knew him when ACHERON(US) played in Santiago de Chile few years ago, my ANGKOR VAT(Ury) tshirt drew his attention and we became quite good friends and we traded stuff from time to time, the first trade included his Worship Death demo and as soon as I knew they had an album out I was anxious about getting it, so you know what's next... This lovers of putrefaction and death stench did an amazing job with their latest CD, I don't remember associating them with the swedish kind of DM sound when I first got into them but I believe now the production denotes this more and drums are into that vibe for sure thanks to the drum kicks and so on... no need to explain more, this project for me is outstanding among all the super chilean deathrashing madness. I have more words to add but I think is enough for now... I better prepare my next paragraphs for a future update. Thanks for reading, get in touch whenever you want. Cheers!
